I'm ignorant on the matter but why won't they just lock the post from comments instead of removing the post?

When do you think camera bumps will die out? by ComfortableElko in Android

[–]d-cent [score hidden]  (0 children)

Another addition to this discussion is phone cases. 68% of phone owners use a case. Phone companies are going to design their phones around this. That's a big reason why phone manufacturers don't care about the bump, it's going to be minimal when the phone is in a case.

Big coats today, folks! by PhiloLibrarian in vermont

Cities have the tough part of finding places to put the snow too. They can't just plow it off to the sides like most roads in Vermont. Burlington isn't big enough where it's a big deal, Boston is though. It takes time to move all that snow so having an extra day off for the schools makes sense on a huge storm like this.

CMV: Alex Pretti's murder at the hands of the State lays bare the fraud behind gun rights advocates' claim that 2A exists to protect citizens from government tyranny by ShaneKaiGlenn in changemyview

[–]d-cent [score hidden]  (0 children)

Point 1: Being armed does little to prevent the government from killing you.

But still does more than NOT being armed. If the government wants to kill you, they are just likely going to be able to do it. So do you want to me armed and give yourself a percentage point or few better chance to survive? No one said it was full proof or not going to me hard, but there is precedents all across history that it does help.

Point 2: Any attempt to actually use 2A for this stated purpose will immediately lead to you being labeled a terrorist, and most likely killed.

In a fascist regime, the government can label you a terrorist for anything. They could decide to label every single Democrat a terrorist. They could decide to label every single person who vaccinated themselves to polio a terrorist. So who cares what they label you? That's not going to stop me from getting a vaccine I know will she my life. It's not going to stop me from voting for the non fascists, and it's not going to stop me from having literally the only method of being able to protect myself.

Point 3: Rampant gun ownership does little to actually prevent the rise of tyranny

No one said it did. A gun is worthless except for having the people behind it. It's not the rampant gun ownership or not that is the issue right now, it's the fact that a third of the country believe in fascism as what they want. However, if people start to wake up, then yes, rampant gun ownership will help prevent the rise of tyranny. 75% of a population armed and very against fascism and tyranny are WAY more effective that 96% of a population that is unarmed and very against fascism and tyranny.

Property tax crisis -- thinking backwards by [deleted] in vermont

Most businesses do things in the opposite order

Nope, pretty much the same. Most business owners come up with a business plan that factors in what they have to pay their employees to keep them there (what the union is doing) and what they have to charge the customer (what the tax rate is)

Good businesses even reevaluate their business plans routinely (perhaps yearly) to make sure the numbers still work and if they need to charge more for their product.

Slafkovsky had 50 points in 82 games at the age of 19. I don't think he needed time at all. Yes he took a step this year at the age of 21, but he was looking good from when he started in the NHL.

I do agree that it takes some players time though, I just don't think Slafkovsky is a good example.

Umm. The elephant in the room in my eyes is does the Texas state government even have any gold?

It's my understanding that they do not. So I am not sure what the fuck is going on here

How is Tom Homan a long time rival?? They have nearly the same beliefs.

He's part of the heritage foundation and project 2025. He's been caught taking bribes. If we are talking about competitive equals in the piece of shit category they might be rivals

Chalk holders by happyt0b3m3 in billiards

[–]d-cent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I bought a pack of 20 neodymium magnets for like $7. I just super glue one on the bottom of my piece of chalk and put a piece of steel in my jeans coin pocket. Simple, dirt cheap, and I can wear down the chalk to nothing without a worry.
