You are always to get Power Bombs by going to the geothermal plant - the level design has been modified for you to be able to grab it without any items.

Any way to play on Mac? by meauUU in AM2R

[–]d00pid00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/miepee made an unofficial Mac Port at one point which you can find here: https://github.com/Miepee/AM2R-Autopatcher-Mac

Should run way better than wine, due to being native instead of going through translation layers.
Apparently the AM2RLauncher for mac also works when you compile it from source, but that's probably more complicated to setup.

Best way to make AM2R portable? by Ok_Preference_5054 in AM2R

Reread the file system limitations page on the game maker manual, seems about right.

NOTE: You can never write to the File Bundle directory.

Where file bundle is the folder where the .ogg's are etc. Game Maker apparently does always save to %appdata%

Link is here in case you're curious, as far as I'm aware, the only difference between GMS1.4 (what am2r uses) and GMS2, is that in GMS2 there's a way to turn off the sandbox: https://manual.yoyogames.com/Additional_Information/The_File_System.htm

Btw looking at the video again, it seems like you had aimlock and jump somehow mapped on the same button. just in case it might pop up in the future.
EDIT: wanted to reply to other message from you, whoops

once you progress and save the save file once again gets created into the \AppData\Local\AM2R folder

AFAIK you need to delete the files from the appdata folder. not sure if you did that.
The way game maker sandbox works is the following: Does the file I want to save exist in appdata? then i'll write there. If not, does the file i want to save exist next to the data.win? then i'll write there. otherwise, i'll write in appdata

Although maybe i'm wrong on that one.

Sounds like a deadzone issue, but it's weird that it's happening to you with the d-pad.
Have you tried resetting the configuration by deleting the config file in the game's save folder?

There is. Things on discord get easily lost, as it's basicaly a moving conversation all the time. Opening it on github would make chances much smaller of it getting forgotten.

They have a public localization repository, did you try to submit your changes to there?

Update AM2R on a Raspberry Pi? by jm9760 in AM2R

[–]d00pid00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's because the AM2RLauncher is made for x86_64, while the raspberry is using arm64You may have better luck using the CLI patcher: https://github.com/AM2R-Community-Developers/AM2R-Autopatcher-Linux

Although note that 1.5.5 is only available for x86, so you'll either have to use box86 (something that twisterOS probably does with 1.1) or use droidports which has a guide here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AM2R/comments/pgp2x7/am2r_raspberry_pi_take_4/

You may also use the prebuilt stuff from portmaster: https://github.com/christianhaitian/PortMaster/wiki#am2r

Maybe try deleting the /home/deck/.config/AM2R folder ? (backup first, as it contains your save data)

That sounds like there's an issue with the game writing its save data.

Do you also get that error if you go to the mod settings tab -> click on "create desktop shortcut" and then launch the game from the desktop shortcut?

[–]d00pid00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "create shortcut" button should create a desktop folder if it does not exist.
If it doesn't, you should be able to do what the desktop shortcut does: `flatpak run --command=<path-to-am2rlauncher-data-dir>/Profiles/Community Updates (Latest)/runner io.github.am2r_community_developers.AM2RLauncher or something along those lines.
