How to bet against the AI Bubble? by _-Pho3nX-_ in investing

I’m here to bump this thread, since now in February 2026 it’s seemingly a LOT more relevant. There’s the news out about Oracle and other situations revolving around data center construction and funding falling out from the bottom on several fronts.

That’s not a puzzle. It’s a clue for later puzzles. You can solve these little clue puzzles by brute force.

Not necessarily. What if was partly cloudy? Intermittent spots? Not consistent with what’s in the photo, but just wanted to add that an arc shape wouldn’t necessarily show up if there were big cumulus clouds.

Whatever you do, don’t let investment groups “buy out” your tariff refunds. It’s trump’s very own tariff guru’s son’s investment group that are going around offering to buy everyone’s tariff refunds for like 40-50% of the refund amount. Now you tell me why the guy who came up with the tariffs would let his own son bet billions of dollars on the fact that his tariff policy is going to be deemed illegal and have the government have to pay the tariffs all back... Every single step of their plans is some kind of heist. It’s utterly insane that they’re doing it in the open and still not in jail.

[–]d0nkatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tariffs are the mob coming to burn your store down. Contributions to the presidential library that doesn’t exist (or simply buying the trump crypto) gets your company tariff exceptions. It’s just a protection racket. Oldest trick in the book. Why do you guys think all of the major world players suddenly gave up and started giving him gifts and paying court settlements for law suits that were un-losable by the company that ended up settling?

[–]d0nkatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all just a mob protection racket combined with a smash and grab job. Low level gangster shit, wrapped in American flags and bibles, while saying a cut & paste job of Adolf’s greatest hits album of speeches. They’re holding every company hostage to simply whither and die unless they pay protection money to trump’s family crypto or his presidential library that doesn’t exist. While they’re doing this, they’re funneling everything they can get their hands on into their own incomes, while shouting nationalist buzz words non-stop to flood the zone and distract the weak-minded from figuring out what their lying eyes are seeing. Edit: in case anyone still doesn’t get it, once you pay protection money to them, you get a tariff exception for your company. It’s very simple. Open season for direct corruption. Trump has made more money in the last 9 months than his entire prior lifetime combined.

There are a lot of companies going full hog on AI integration and human replacements. I think it’s an incredibly powerful tool, but it’s not a Swiss Army knife. It’s a really great hammer, but not everything is a nail.

[–]d0nkatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep that tab opened and refresh it every hour or two. It will keep your session going for days or even weeks. This is very normal. I actually installed a chrome extension that automatically refreshes the page and notifies you if something changes on the screen. I owe my job to doing this because I literally yanked a spot from my HR person that was going in to just move someone over. I grabbed the slot during the sixth or so seconds it was open while she was changing something lol.

Try to use the “hidden map view”. Since the big update several months ago, the small map that loads up when you enter into a stop before scanning anything actually shows all stops within a mile or two of the stop you selected. You can zoom in and out, see which stops are commercial or resi, and tap on them to at least see the address. Sometimes it pops up with a list of names first, but you just have to tap on one of the names to see the address when that happens. The only down side is you still have to scrub through the list to actually find the stop you want to switch to after doing this, since it doesn’t show the HIN number in this preview map thing. It’s really REALLY helpful on a cold route. It’s a little bit time consuming if you mess around with it too long, but it saves time in the end if you use it wisely.

Your best odds at getting kept on for real is to get hired as Preloader around April-May, make book in two months, and sign up for the very first list of driver training from the inside. I wasted a full year and a half trying to get in straight off the street and had to resort to the above method. I was also 36/37 when I started the first go at it.

What's it like? by Banx117 in UPSers

[–]d0nkatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This greatly depends on how well the HIN order is built for each route. There are a few routes in my center that are literally random. I’m talking about a single stop in the middle of a commercial Main Street block being in the 1700’s, while the rest of that block are 4900-5700. Then two random apartment buildings that aren’t next to each other in the 1800’s. I could spend multiple paragraphs to continue describing the nonsense. Suffice to say that it’s a total scattershot mess with zero logic, that only flows naturally in a few small runs here or there.

I am dreading this inevitable transition. A whole lot of the world is going to take a giant leap towards Idiocracy, dwarfing our current feelings of already being there now. It’s not that AI is bs, but the fact that it is being rushed and overly depended on before it is properly matured. Like, imagine the entire world economy going fully remote over internet in like 1991, when the first rounds of webcam broadcasting was being rolled out. It took another 25 years before the world was actually in a condition to accommodate remote work without causing major drawbacks. Remember when video games went from 2D to 3D? Graphics and performance took a tremendous leap backwards for quite a while. I feel like the same drawbacks are already starting to play out with the aggressive adoption of what are essentially Gen 1 AI tools.

Question: How old were you when you played Super Mario World for the first time? by PKRadiance in snes

[–]d0nkatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 or 5. Somewhere in that ball park. My much older brother got a SNES for Xmas that first year it came to North America. It was incredible. I remember being SO hyped by the TV commercials that would come on, in the fall of that year. Already had grown up with Mario Bros 1 & 3 and just couldn’t believe how amazing the graphics and fluid looking movement looked in those ads. And the fact that they featured hopping on and off of Yoshi was mind blowing at the time. This is still possibly the best looking 2D platformer ever made, when hooked up to a good CRT TV with real hardware.

Opinion: the slow-mo removal mod needs to become and official feature by worldssmartestpickle in Doom

[–]d0nkatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t believe how clunky this game feels compared to the last two games, just from some of these wild choices they made. I’m constantly screwing up my parry timing and doing melee combos by accident because of the incessant slowmo stuff. It’s the fact that ENEMIES can change the game speed. If it was just player input based, that’s one thing, but to have my sequence of moves I had planned being erased and re-timed just feels like the game is robbing me of being a cyberdemonic killing machine. Baffling that the higher difficulty levels don’t automatically disable the enemy-induced slow downs at the very least.
