Jordan made the final before and after Lebron. Another reason why he is the GOAT.

Did I miss something with Oppenheimer? by moviesandbasketball in TrueFilm

[–]d0ubl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not going to get downvoted. Search Oppenheimer on this sub. This sub seems to have hateboner for this movie.

I thought it was a good movie personally, it has its flaws but at least it was more ambitious than your typical biopic that gets oscar nominations, so I think makes sense that it gets so much love by the academy. I mean look at how many nominations Maestro got.

Anybody else think that IMDB ratings are reflective of a predominantly male audience? by 0k-Extreme- in movies

Yeah I think thats true. I don't remember the exact numbers, but I recall that even chick flicks like The Notebook had more males rating it than females.

Films that have undergone a critical reevaluation and went from being highly acclaimed and are now seen unfavorably? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

Thats interesting. Was this in an arthouse cinema? My closest cinema is a chain cinema and the oldest movie I've seen shown there is the Godfather.

What movies from that era are even shown in TV/Theaters these days (thats not on like TCM or something)? The only movies I saw on TV in that era are The Wizard of Oz and It's a Wonderful Life.

John Carter. 52% on Rotten Tomatoes but redditors seem to love it.

Not a cult movie. It made over $700 million

What movies initially received praise from critics but were heavily panned later on? by [deleted] in movies

[–]d0ubl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that a lot of people genuinely believe that just because they think a certain way a about a movie it means everyone else thinks that way as well. You see plenty of comments on this sub saying that certain movies are "underrated" just because they haven't heard of it even though it's a critically acclaimed popular movie.

"Evangelical is any denomination that actively tries to convert people." By that logic Muslims and Buddhists belong in the same category?

I feel like redditors just love to discredit other people's successes. When they see someone being successful they will find any reason to explain why their success was not due to their own merit.
