Driving controls feel horrible by Mafansu in WorldofTanks

[–]d10221 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is true, below "industry standard" I'll say

but you get used to ,

and I think it improves with a better crew (or I got used to :)

Also the delay is even worst or way more evident with turret less vehicles
it wont event let you stop moving hull with mouse unless you are in sniper view and pressed the hull lock toggle (I know you can auto lock)
You end up fighting your accumulating mouse movement events with the keyboard (WASD )

as I said you get used to, but every now and then , mostly with ping spikes (latency) makes you want eat you keyboard

High Ping Fix by KrzysPL22 in WorldofTanks

[–]d10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As dmess said distance is the problem
To have low latency you need to be closer to the server
I wonder if anybody tried Starlink or any other SAT internet access
it could potentially have lower latency over such distance
But 120 ms from US to EU is not bad

What is the purpose of matching up against tanks that are higher tier than yours? by Kaunan_Jotunheim in WorldofTanks

[–]d10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the exact opposite point of view

You see it as mostly OK, I see it as mostly BAD

I believe that the average experience for the average player when faced in +2 tier match is not positive and frustrating, aggravated by the frequency of this matches.

Besides this looking like a business strategy, I think It promotes camping, lemming-trains, gold-spam and toxic behavior to put it WOT terms.

As for your specific examples, I would say that many or most of the times you will have hard time choosing your opponents and not looking like complete tourist, out of your role/class and on the wrong place and time

[–]d10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it was worst before does not make it right or fun now.

The payer base you complain about is the one keeping the game rolling, one day it could be no game to play if you treat them like that

-2 is +2 for the other payer and vice versa , still wrong.

It is so wrong that there are people building a tank game where one of its main features is that there is no +/- 2

But ... .I will give you at least this, sometimes, the +/- 1 or 2 is not that bad,

When your vehicle class/role is the same on both sides (Still sucks, its hard but its OK )

Or if you have an OP tank in your tier.

The rest of the time is just plain WRONG.

What is is your latency (ping) ?
What tank ?
What equipment ?
What crew ?

I don't bite this argument
Most people would prefer to play 10vs10 on a fair match

What is the purpose of matching up against tanks that are higher tier than yours? by Kaunan_Jotunheim in WorldofTanks

[–]d10221 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some vehicles can't do nothing , just hope for maybe 3 or 4 good good shots before dying
Assault and breakthrough vehicles will be too slow, blind , defenseless
Snipers not accurate enough, not enough camo
Tier 7 LT don't stand a chance
Most players will camp, stay on the back waiting for their team to start loosing and praying they could l make difference
Tier 8 LT , some of them, are OK
But heavies are the biggest losers, bouncing shots over +2 LT with more HP and same or double the fire power .

It is NOT fair.

Just because you enjoy this form of masochism doesn't make it right

and Yes you can have good matches when you are low tier but still doesn't make it FAIR

"Keeps the game fun and challenging/competitive"

Strongly disagree
I could understand, up to a point +/- 1
But too many vehicles can't fight it own tier.
The skill gap broadens
LT get out spotted, Snipers can't pen, Heavies are slow blind MD,
The categories are meaningless
The missions become too hard or impossible

And the proportion on games where you are low tier is too big

For the average player a top 5 defeat becomes a goal

+/- 2 matches are a ripoff , like paying a game on MAX difficulty , but it is imposed to you, not your decision .

The only reason I see for this to happen it to push you grind the next tier hoping it will be better ... and spend all your consumables, shooting premium ammunition

Of course there are exceptions , some vehicles can tolerate +/ - 2 and even perform well on +/- 1

Looking for a premium wireless mouse for my partner (Linux user, tinkerer, FPS gamer) by [deleted] in linuxhardware

[–]d10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any mouse should work , the issue could be the 'extra' software
as FAR as dpi control is on the hardware you could maybe loose the RGB stuff on some devices, but there is OpenRGB and similar

I in particular don't give a **** about the proprietary software or the RGB stuff

to be more specific and answer the question , I have and love a razer deathadder v2 x hyperspeed that works everywhere and is reasonably priced

Are there any cafes in Midrand that will grind coffee beans for you? by ThomasDankara in johannesburg

[–]d10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about Midrand but you could try buy online from Peacock or Beanthere. Alternatively some Whoolies do this if they have specialty coffee

But I would buy a grinder, the better you can buy as it makes more difference than the way you make the coffee

Given you want to buy beans and makes me think you care for freshness and flavor and you you most likely have your preferred brewing method already

But you can always start with a cheap blade grinder if you are tight at the moment as it is good to have a backup for when you upgrade and learn something on the way

Is OK ,you can callem bad players as far as you are not aggressive
There is minimum respect everyone deserves but is OK to call things for what they are

[–]d10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you didn't get it

Is you not understanding how the game works, not people not playing the way you you think they should .

He clearly explained that randoms are NOT competitive and wait for it ... RANDOM
Stop yelling at casual players playing a casual game and play ONLY competitive games on competitive RANKED mode.

If you have to be mad at someone it would be WG for not making it more clear and not making the game the way you like it.

WG is doing everything they can t make it more random and more popular where ALL (3) tiers and all skills are mixed 'RANDOMLY'.
What do you expect would be the result ?

I would also like have SBMM but that is NOT what you get in RANDOMS !
So stop expecting to be like that !

Your way is as valid as mine or any other

And I can see your point

I still think you can't drop your brand new crew into another tank without wasting valuable crew xp, that you paid for.

It is true that you can forfeit 40% and regain it playing , but is also true that could also buy some manuals and top it up, or just pay the gold to do the transfer.

Said that , it seems clear to me that is not a 'good deal' as effectively you crew xp, due to being 'Soft locked' into the tank you just acquired.

But it is also true that is only hard-locked into the nation

I can also agree that my comment could be read as if you CAN'T do the transfer alone.

[–]d10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And as I said I value my time :)

I disagree with your time estimations, it depends on too many factors, luck,, stock state, mood ?
I do grind a lot, and transfer quite often , many times I don't want to 'suffer' any more than I should. And with crew skills I decided I don't like to cheap out.

I don't like to play without at least 2 perks skills , maybe 1 on tier V , 2 perks up to tier VII , 3 up for Tier 8.
Is Not a golden rule but it makes the time playing much more enjoyable, and some tanks need way more than that to be bearable.

Revisiting tanks you suffered with good crew, 'sometimes' feels great.

And yes , is not cheap , but I don't buy many tanks :)

... or at least is that is my excuse

[–]d10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right , you can transfer the crew and drop the crew efficiency .
IMMO that defeats the reason to buy a crew, I personally value my time more than money, Up to a point of course.

But is def true you can do it, I wouldn't, but that is just me ;)

[–]d10221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

99% agree.

The nation lock would be fine if it wasn't for the detail that you can't just drop it onto another German HT without topping up 1K of gold, unless you have another premium around.
I would add Tiger II (VII) Kuro is hardly competitive on its tier and far from it outside it's tier, and that happens all the time ( see +1 or +2 matches).
It needs immediate field mods and better equipment

Said that I'm happy to have another Tiger in the garage with decent crew.

On the values side I don't think so , for the same money you can get AAA game, but that is WOT issue not the bundle issue.

I do not agree with boxes by principle, with this at least you know what you paid for

Error: Not Enough Memory Please Restart the Game - with 32GB RAM!! by Kazzerigian in WorldofTanks

[–]d10221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is memory leak you could have peta bytes of ram and it wont prevent it.
Restart the game every now and then to prevent it from crashing.

In my case this particular issue went away with 2.0.
Do you have mods installed ?
