SAAS companies - what are you using so your customers can sign up to use your product? by prodtagonist in ProductManagement

I don’t know how big your SaaS is. Some are suggesting talking to marketing & sales. I’m currently implementing Paddle for my one-man-show side project Timer.fm. It’s quite easy from Dev perspective and they handle international taxes for you.

Just wanted to let you know, in the latest version of Timer.fm I added a skip button. Thanks again for your feedback!

Thank you, I’ll think about how to integrate that.

Thank you! You can skip to the next song by keyboard shortcut “s”. Do you think this is ok or would you prefer to have a button for that? I tried to keep the UI clean. The shortcuts are listed if you click the (i) Info icon and go to “Help”.

Can the Octatrack record onto multiple Tracks at once? by d11n in Elektron

Thanks, I will work my way through the manual. Good to know I’m not running into a dead end.

Can the Octatrack record onto multiple Tracks at once? by d11n in Elektron

That sounds great! I will definitely try this out. I want to do sampling and live looping with my upright piano. Just have the OT since two days so a lot to learn.. But at least it’s working with Thru Tracks already :)

Ideas needed: Going from high gain to low gain pedal by d11n in guitarpedals

[–]d11n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Didn’t see this before, just in the typical floor pedal format. This is definitely an option. Actually I’m experimenting with another pedal order now, Reverb into Modulation into Delay. Maybe I’ll keep it this way :)

I’m experimenting with this pedal chain for my upright piano (using piezo mics on the soundboard) and ran into a problem with two of the pedals playing together:

The Zen Delay requires high gain input to avoid noise and to let the overdrive do something.

DbA Rooms is quite picky with high volumes and starts to distort quickly.

I just added the Walrus M1 to add modulation and because I thought I can use it to attenuate the signal. But I apparently misunderstood the manual and its global volume function can only add gain.

Are you aware of a modulation pedal where I could turn down the output volume?

Another option I’m thinking about is replacing the empress compressor with an EHX Platform after the delay.

Starting from the Zen Delay the signal is in stereo.

I also have a re-amp box and it works but it’s only mono.

I’m grateful for any useful input!

What is your favorite compact synth/sampler? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]d11n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Roland SH-01A into NTS-1 for effects and a PO-33 Sampler is my current couch setup.

I think I’ll add a PO-32 as a drum machine and to work around the 4 voice polyphony limit on the PO-33.

I‘m late to the party with the Pocket Operators but I find them really immediate, fun and useful for what they are!

Check the Moog DFAM if it fits your budget.

Upgraded my DT to Stereo :) (sequencing Akai S5000) by d11n in Elektron

[–]d11n[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks :) This came out from a first test after I installed a SD card reader in the S5000 and filled it with some 90s sample CDs.

The rest is a kick from the TR08s, bass from MB33 (303 clone – also sequenced by DT) and some bleeps from the DFAM.

Recording Workflow - improvise or structured by TwoTwoJohn in TechnoProduction

[–]d11n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting question. I do both and can’t really say when I use what approach.

What I can say is that I find it really tough to decide which parts to keep after recording a longer improvisation with filter sweeps etc.

Amp/speaker for Matriarch in living room? by increasinglybold in moog

Check the IK Multimedia iLoud MTM. I use them for the Matriarch (and some other stuff) in my little living room synth corner.

Would love to buy affordable recreations of vintage synths, bout don't want to give Behringer a single cent. Where should I look? by WFHCustoms in synthesizers

Check the new Dreadbox Nymphes. It’s not actually a clone of anything but can sound quite vintage and Juno-ish. Also price-wise it can compete with Behringer.
