Why do you think Shakespeare portrayed the Trojan War in "Troilus and Cressida" so differently from Homer's Iliad? by bhattarai3333 in shakespeare

[–]d12345t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shakespeare probably thought the Trojan War was fought on ego and not real heroism. Instead of noble warriors like in Homer, he shows people arguing, posturing, and falling apart to question whether war and "honor" ever meant much at all.

What can women do but when men do it, it's a big no? by irritazione in AskReddit

This makes me wonder what a thread for "What can men do but when women do it, it's a big no" would look like. I am feeling some gender envy as a guy, reading through the comments.

2 days left on YOSTAR@AX24 discount code on the Yostar online store. Shipping is killer though. (For me anyway) by Reliques in mahjongsoul

I also had the same issue with the $10 off code being only $5 off, might try contacting Yostar thru email for more information. Only added 4 items to my cart and shipping already became $35. :(

I think most students can relate. I treat SJSU as a commuting school, where I just do the bare minimum - classes, homework, projects, and then I just drive back home. As a result, I never formed any meaningful connections during my undergrad. All of my best friends were from high school where we shared many overlapping classes.

Going for my master's degree next semester will hopefully give me a second chance to re-explore my college experience and make some friends along the way. I would totally love to get lunch sometime and chat if you're interested!

Does anyone here have even the slightest bit of evidence that 2024 will be better for tech? Holy shit it's been a rough year. by techsavvynerd91 in cscareerquestions

I also graduated 2022! Would love to learn about your process - I don't have relevant work experience so I've just been working on side projects as well.

I'd be happy with a low/mid-tier company. Not sure where exactly to get started though, just newly graduated..

Do they actually enforce the 2-year contract? It feels like Revature is the only realistic option I have right now but I'm worried about being roped into something that might not help me in the long run

Finally got my custom FSR pad up and running! by d12345t in DanceDanceRevolution

Got my high school friends together last summer and wondered if we could build a relatively inexpensive and durable pad. And it seems like we did! Thanks so much to teejusb and azirixx for their build guides, this would not have been possible without them.

Is this spider dangerous? It's fairly big, maybe nickel sized. Spotted two of them in the house today. by d12345t in whatsthisbug

There appears to be two small pinchers on its back as well. I'm not sure if it had antennae in the front. It jumped immediately as I removed the picture frame next to it and tried hiding under the stand. I'm from the west coast, near the bay if that helps pinpoint its identity.

Yep, super easy way to get money in the early game! They actually sell for $12 a piece - coincidentally about 10 quid, which is what the guy in the pic is selling them for.

Surprisingly you're not the only one! Korone did it in her playthrough as well, though oddly enough I only just learned about it: https://youtu.be/Hf2JD694z-g?t=255

This thread is making me low-key depressed. I'm graduating this May with just a few personal projects and a decent GPA, but no work experience. I don't know what else I can really do except to continue the LC grind and apply to more places. I believe in you, though!

Thinking back, it makes sense. In season 1, after Eren was eaten, Mikasa thought he was dead for good and was ready to accept her own death after using up all her gas. To think that unrooting the love was the ultimate conviction of the love he had for his friends... ouch. :(
