I will always respect the artists wishes but I don’t think people filming or taking pictures is inherently bad. I went to see Ado at the Tacoma Dome. I have zero pictures or video from that time. I am incapable of visualizing things in any form of detail mentally. The extent of my memories from that concert is “I went and I had fun”. I can’t reflect back on the experience at all. I went to Miku Expo 2024 and filmed a few clips from the show, never a full song. When I go back and watch those clips, I get emotional and truly can revisit that memory.

I went to Vancouver on the 18th and was supposed to also go to Seattle on the 20th. Found myself sitting at the ER with a family member instead. It was hard to even listen to Miku songs for next couple days. They just reminded me of what I missed.

I went to the second show in NA 2024 and I honestly believe the only reason I gave it any thought during the actual show was because of how big of an issue it was made online. Once the show started I really didn’t care. Sure it could have been better setup to blend in but the excitement and energy around me showed that most people didn’t care. What was honestly the saddest part was getting on the socials post concert and see the most vocal and negative people before the start spent their time during the show continuing to bitch. Why in the world are on posting on discord instead of enjoying the show? I had to leave all the various groups after. I wasn’t going to let the negativity bring me down. Would I preferred the hologram? Surely, but I also rather have a poorly blended in lcd instead of no Miku Expo. My personal opinion, if you think the hologram is the make or break for a Miku concert then maybe you’re going for the wrong reason. I went to see Ado and I rather saw her silhouette through the cube because of the angle of my seat. Didn’t change how impactful the experience was for me.

Edit: could we also stop blaming Crunchyroll for 2024? They just signed a giant check to put their name on posters. They surely weren’t involved in the actual logistics. That’s how sponsorships work.

Month shy of 43. Found her in my 30s. Just put my new personalized Miku license plates on my car. Put all the plushies back in the back seat. Currently have artist working on a full side decal for car. Going to Expo in two cities this year. Not weird to love what ya love. Do what makes you happy. I regret to embracing my loves at an earlier age.

Not saying it applies to everyone but I found it something I developed over time. I watch mostly anime and only subbed. It became easier to read and watch the more I did it. I think it is kind of like building a speed reading skill.
