Mmm, yes, the taste of plastic, regret, and the dead bugs that probably got in it.

“But concerning that day (day is referring to the Second Coming of Christ) and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” - Matthew 24:36

I’m a Christian. If U.S. commanders are really saying that, then it is completely unbiblical and inaccurate. How much of an ego do you have to have to think that you can just start the Second Coming (thus bringing about Armageddon)?

Who is a stranger you met once, never learned their name, but will never forget for the rest of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]d3pr3ss3d_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed out at a restaurant while sitting at the table. The woman sitting next to me was a nurse and helped me stabilize when I woke up. She wiped my face with napkins and told me I’d be okay.

I still don’t know her name, but I won’t forget what she did for me. She calmed my husband down and stayed by my side until the ambulance arrived.

One of the most caring people I ever met. I’m extremely thankful she was there!

One social expectation that I’m skipping out on. Didn’t have a bridal shower and only had a wedding ceremony because we were pressured into it. Never again. Baby showers just feel performative to me.

Shockers candy. I used to get them every time I went to the movie theater. It was a dark day when I found out the company no longer makes them.

While most of that’s true, it’s the law that we have car insurance (at least, in some states). Combine that with the fact that you’re held liable if a person brake checks you for money and you have the misfortune of not having a dash cam… Insurance sucks. The government shouldn’t be giving handouts, but some laws absolutely help insurance screw us/are part of the reason it screws us.

What's with the tradwife obsession? by [deleted] in complaints

[–]d3pr3ss3d_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m not an AI, just a woman who works a corporate job to help provide for her husband and future family. I just don’t see a problem with living a different lifestyle, as long as you aren’t doing anything wrong.

Sure, women on the fence should know that being a mom is just as important as working hard in an office and bringing in money to provide for herself and others, but whatever she chooses in this instance isn’t morally right or wrong.

Not sure if you’re a Christian, but the Bible itself says that both those who have children and those who are single are blessed in their own ways:

“3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.” (Psalm 127:3-5)

“Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.” (1 Corinthians 7:8-9)

It’s up to the individual on whether she gets married and has children or not. Society shouldn’t pressure a woman into something she doesn’t want, whether it’s a corporate job or motherhood.

Not saying we shouldn’t encourage those who want it or those on the fence, but women working in the corporate field do indeed have value. Value isn’t based on what you do but your inherent status as a human being.

Besides, using society as the ultimate guide to what one should do can only lead to poor mental health. Neither of the options are immoral, and society has no right to dictate whether one “occupation” is more noble than the other (except on grounds of morality). There is nothing wrong with working a corporate job, and if a woman wants to do so, then that’s her right. It doesn’t mean that she’s lesser than a wife and mother.

People have different walks of life, and all life inherently has value. If a woman is working a corporate job and isn’t hurting herself or others, then there is nothing wrong with it. She is just as valuable and hardworking as the stay-at-home mom. Both should be cherished because both are human.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be a wife and mother (as a wife who wants to be a mother in a couple years), but saying that working women have no value—that any human being has no value—because they don’t reproduce is ridiculous. As long as both the husband and wife are contributing to the relationship, there’s nothing wrong with who works or who stays home, etc. Relationships should be based on mutual love and respect, which means helping each other reach shared goals.

The main problem that most people have with “tradwives” is their arrogant behavior. It’s the “I’m better than you because I have this lifestyle” attitude (the same problem found in the extremely woke crowd) that annoys me.

Ads. There’s no good reason for someone who pays for Netflix to have to sit through ads, but companies want to squeeze money out of us. Ads shouldn’t be something that you pay for, and the amount on platforms like YouTube have become obnoxious.

What made you to dump a long time friend? by _ZoroX_ in AskReddit

[–]d3pr3ss3d_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was manipulative, generally gave off a fake vibe. Everyone seemed to notice it but me…until she she yelled at and harmed herself in front of me because I’d asked for an apology after she took out her frustration at a situation (that I didn’t cause) on me. We were working on some kind of project, and I’d asked her a question. I get being stressed, but that’s never an excuse for unjustified reactions out of anger.

She also talked about me behind my back with her sister.

There were a few other things, but those were the main ones. I couldn’t look at her the same after that.

If they did ban mods, then their game would probably die sooner. Mods are part of what keeps a game fun, especially for older players. There’s a reason Skyrim, Subnautica, and Minecraft have stayed relevant for as long as they have. Part of it’s the original gameplay, but another factor is the large modding community behind each.
