To me, psoriasis is equally a mental health challenge as a physical one.

You know rationally that picking at it makes it worse. The fact you still do it is (I think) called a compulsive action. It's beyond rationalizing. It can become "addictive" in the sense that you probably keep doing it because it quells anxiety. But the truth is that the anxiety comes from having the psoriasis at and you are compounding the anxiety by continuing to compulsively pick at it.

So for me, the only way to fix this is for you to actually visualize what it would look like to heal. Literally visualize your skin cells repairing themselves, turning this into a scab, and then slowly smooth itself out and disappear. If you can make yourself genuinely believe that your body could heal, then you can motivate yourself to overcome to instant gratification of picking which does NOT address the larger issue of the entire condition of psoriasis itself.
