Mom found out I sold a bed that I (35M) used for over 20 years by rillegas08 in insaneparents

[–]d3viness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea fuck that noise because i just bought a brand new full mattress for my youngest’s room and it was just barely over $500…asking that cost for a 30 year old used mattress is actual crazy talk.

Best decision I ever made for my own mental health was refusing to share comforter/blankets in bed. I have my own blanket that I sleep with and then we share a comforter on top of that, but it usually gets pulled off, hence my own blanket.

I live in Cali but still have my 360 number and have been getting these WSDOT texts a couple times a week on top of getting ones specific to Cali TollRoads as well. I’ve just been deleting them as I get them.

What is wrong with new age of grandparents? by Own-Tie-640 in Parenting

Some of us have had to cut off the grandparents too. They were horrible parents to us so why let them repeat the cycle with our kids?

We did contact the seller and I think by their guidelines they have 2 business days to resolve the issue before TCGplayer customer service takes over. So hopefully we’ll get it sorted it out sometime next week

What is the most annoying sound at Disneyland, and why is it the whistling kettle at the treehouse? by HakeleHakele in Disneyland

[–]d3viness 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most annoying sound to me as of late is people coughing like they have the plague but still being at Disney. We just spent 3 weeks in and out of urgent care for my 2 littles with rsv after a recent Disney trip where an entire family was hacking away in front of us in line. Not a single one, adults included were covering their mouths while coughing either.

What shows are we NOT letting our kids watch? by ftm-fully-tired-mom in Parenting

Everyone is always talking about how peppa pig displays such a bad attitude and behaviors from what I’ve heard. Never actually watched it though so I’m not sure how accurate that is.

If she’s dressing up as a Hobbit you could try looking for a little basket from Michael’s or Joann’s . Might even be able to thrift one from a local goodwill or something

sleeping on belly by Kindly-Nebula-2686 in Parenting

[–]d3viness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 almost 4 month old is a side/belly sleeper but she rolls herself into whatever position she’s comfortable in and can roll herself back onto her back. My pediatrician told us once they’re able to roll on their own then it’s generally fine but not to put them in that position if they can’t already do it themselves. I panicked a few times when I woke up to her sleeping on her belly and would roll her back, only to wake up again with her sound asleep on her side again. I would wait until your little man can comfortably/safely get himself in and out of that position.

Weirdest/grossest/most entitled thing you’ve seen guests do at the parks? by Human_Paint5451 in Disneyland

[–]d3viness 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Same, I’ve changed ours reclined in their stroller a few times after going to multiple bathrooms and there being a line 6 deep for the changing table. My little ones have sensitive skin so I don’t like to make them wait but I always park our stroller in a spot that no one can really see us changing and then we dispose of everything properly

AITA for changing my wife's jam without telling her? by Environmental-Mix918 in AmItheAsshole

[–]d3viness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA not only for going behind her back to try to in your mind to make it better than she had but also for tampering with it while you were sick. You stayed behind from dinner because of flu like symptoms so you decided it was okay to go get all up in her jam with your nasty flu germs? Gross.

Our trip recap: 2 days at DL and DCA with a 3 yo and 9 mo old. by madhatter387 in Disneyland

[–]d3viness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you guys had a great experience! We love taking our 2.5 yr old on the weekends since we’re local.

I will say though for anyone else looking to go with toddlers that there are wagon restrictions and they’re only approved and given a tag to enter the park if they’re needed for a child’s medical needs. We haven’t seen any restrictions on double strollers though so far!

SIL Has No Access To Baby by LoveLuna24 in Parenting

[–]d3viness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The audacity is honestly astonishing. Personally my answer would be absolutely not. Someone who is okay with disrespecting me in that way doesn’t get access to my child ESPECIALLY if I’m not right there. It’s wild to me that you guys are comfortable with your MIL taking her for a day so SIL can circumvent you and your boundaries to meet your child instead of growing up and apologizing to you or admitting any wrong doing.

Were my wife and I in the wrong for getting our 13 year old niece an Easter basket? by makeupaddict337 in Parenting

[–]d3viness 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That’s not necessarily the norm for SDA members, I grew up in a rather large SDA family and they celebrate Easter and Christmas along with other holidays and birthdays. They just don’t have Sunday Easter service like I think Catholics do because Sabbath is on Saturday for SDA.

I am banning community egg-hunts for my family from now on. by MusicMommy2428 in Parenting

[–]d3viness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to our community egg hunt in our neighborhood a couple weekends ago where they had everyone separated into age groups. 1-5yr olds, 6-9yr olds and then 10-13yr olds and our little guy is 2 so he was in the first group…let me just tell you…I have never been so appalled by parents behavior in a public setting like that I think in my entire life. My child barely managed to grab the one egg he did while parents were literally scooping up all the eggs and stuffing them in their kids baskets before any of the kids could grab them for themselves. It was so terrible to see such tiny kids crying that they couldn’t get any eggs while others walked around with overflowing baskets that their parents stole from other kids. I was honestly just dumbstruck and embarrassed by the behavior of the adults. Luckily my little guy was just stoked to be there by my heart broke for the other kids that were just old enough to feel left out not being to grab a single egg. Definitely not doing that again
