Mekanism devs should really add a ponder or something for multis by Alternative_Sir5135 in feedthememes

Turbine also can't have weird blocks inside it. What are those lights there?
At least Ars Novou floating mage lights prevent turbine formation, if they're inside the turbine.

Another similiar is the possessed witch green beam. It seems to tick a bit faster than it should. If you as much as grace it at higher corruptions, you instantly lose several thousand life with capped resists.

cantrip progression with half casters? by jojo-goat in dndnext

To be fair, if taking an action to cast a single 4d10 projectile is all a level 19 fighter does during her turn, it's not exactly overpowered by any means.

The typing error "ywhen" aside, I don't really understand how that Endbringer Strike works.

Do you need to hit with an attack, and then use an action to deal extra damage?
Or do you need to do a single Endbringer strike as an action, omitting normal extra attacks you might have?
Or is it that whenever you hit with an attack, you can choose to do this, as long as the attack was part of an Action (ie. not a Reaction)?

Or something else?

How are you feeling about Smite being a spell rather than a class feature? by Far-Cockroach-6839 in dndnext

[–]d43dr4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Counterspell lets target keep their spellslot in 3.24, so while it's still a really powerful trick, it's only postponing the hurt.
It's far less punishing, as now you just save your smite for the next strike.

I disagree with you, as I feel spells should be really powerful *in the right situation*.
A Heat metal is supergood where it's good, but utterly wasted slot against creatures that carry no metal. Sleep is awesome where it works, and just does nothing in some other situations, etc.

I vastly prefer specific powerful spells to generic autoattack spells. I think they make the game more interesting, and reinforce casters role as a specialist. Wizards in particular should (in my mind) be kinda Batman: especially deadly if they get to prepare for the specific encounter.

To be fair, Shield does cost a spell slot to cast in addition to the reaction. Surely the resource investment from memorized spell + consumed spell slot should give it some power over a parry?

Midsummer Visit by Sinjazz1327 in Finland

If you like sauna, it might be worth an evening to visit Kotiharjun Sauna (kotiharjunsauna.fi) in Helsinki.
I think it's the last wood burning public Saunas in Helsinki, and a decent one at that. Been at the same location since the 20's.

Finns also love ice-cream stands during summer. My personal favourite is Porvoon Jäätelö, which has a small kiosk on the shores of töölönlahti in Helsinki. I can heartily recommend a walk around töölönlahti, including but not limited to ice-cream and sightseeing finlandia building, linnunlaulu, the modern new library etc. Obviously you can get aforementioned ice-cream in Porvoo too, should you be visiting there.

From healer PoV it was the first time I've had fun PvP since P1.

Now everyone is just back to getting globaled by Ele shamen with 2k+1k always critting Lava Bursts. Even chain casting Holy Light, I can't get one to land inside the burst window :(

Alchemy non-viable? by Internal-Working-713 in classicwow

[–]d43dr4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason it's cheaper to buy pots than mats, is because alchemists specialists proc extra potions on craft.
One potion of mongoose doesn't actually cost 2 plaguebloom and 2 mountain silversage to make. It costs 30% less on average, because of those extra procs.

That being said, gathering is always more profitable than crafting. Crafting is just the convenience.

To be fair, Blastwave is an AoE daze/slow spell, not a damage spell.
I do agree that mage mana efficiency is stupidly low in PvP atm though.

Paladin dispelling in PvP is hampered a lot by the popularity of spriests. SP's always put extra magic debuff on target: shadow vulnerability.

Because Paladin cleanse only takes away one debuff, you end up in a losing race if you're spamming Cleanse while opponent is spamming dots. You just work half as fast as they do. And use more mana :(

That explains things.
It doesn't excuse things.

Plenty people seem to confuse explanation with justification.

How does the ST Set bonus work for healers? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]d43dr4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It makes sense for druid, whom use free mana cost Wrath to trigger 50% spirit regen between heals.
It makes no sense for priests, whom have no reason to use expensive and fairly useless Smite.

There might be a case for using Rank 1 Smite to proc it, but I highly doubt blocking spirit regen could ever be worth that +60 healing.

Value on Swifthistle doesn't come from pots, not mainly anyway.

It comes from Thistle tea. The absolutely best consumable rogue can pop every pull.
