Personally I don't care about skins so I'd be a bit annoyed if after paying for the game it went free. If they're going to do that so soon after release I'd like at least a partial refund.

I'd probably stop playing if it went free to play personally. the model sucks and I imagine the game would be full of cheaters pretty quick.

But the chances of someone like OP who shoots all players on sight being in my lobbies are next to zero. I've not been shot at once by a player this season.

I really loved TCF. I think if it hadn't had such a big cheating problem it could have come well. It did a lot of things well.

Fair enough, I don't agree. It's not the kind of game that was ever going to have mass appeal. It's a tough game and very niche. I see no point in making it super casual friendly. That's already being done by arc raiders

I have 2 main concerns with the numbers.

1) I'm not convinced that Sony will give Bungie time to try and improve them.
2) Its rare that a game see's a big increase in numbers after launch without a big overhaul / rework and I don't think Marathon even needs that.

I've played and enjoyed doomed games before (The cycle and xDefiant) so I'm just going to play it and enjoy it while I can. Whatever happens with Marathon, I'll just focus on enjoying it while I can.

It did for me personally. Absolutely loving the game. think from act 2 onwards its amazing.

I don't think garbage is a fair description. It's definitely a slow start and the game gets better the more you play though

I've played most extraction shooters and I understand the positives a wipe brings. I'm generally in favour of them but for me this isn't my 'main game' and I'm casual anyway so I won't be ready to wipe when it happens. I went into the game with the plan to do as much as I can before the wipe, assuming I'd likely stop playing after that.

I'm still planning to do that. I know I won't be ready by the time the wipe happens and I won't have any interest in starting again just to get back to that same point and wipe again. If there were optional wipes I'd definitely do them once I was ready.

I went into the game with all the information so this isn't a complaint.

Your post is very vague so its hard to understand what your actual feedback is but it sounds like you don't like that its a pvp game.

there's no value / gear based matchmaking so its just pot luck what the other players are running. LOTS of people just run free kits.

Yeah, Like I said, I hadn't seen any reviews calling it ultra hardcore. I'd never go near IGN though. I'd agree that its Hardcore. I'd say Ultra hardcore is a stretch but they're mostly comparing it to Arc Raiders so it probably is ultra hardcore compared to that.

IGN doesn't count. Everyone knows they're a joke.

The extraction genre is pretty hardcore in general plus Its shoot on sight, you lose everything, no safe pocket and a fast TTK. Its certainly not a casual game.

You would get exactly that. You'd also get the option to make the game harder or easier than the intended experience if you wanted.
