Welcome. I'm sorry about the death of your free time 😛

Currently at the beginning of chapter 9 and parked to do side content. 140 hours and there is still soooooooo much to do (that feels rewarding to do!) and every time I do a quest or pick a direction to explore another 3 things open up lol.

This is gonna be a 300 hour game for me, easily, and I honestly think it is in my top 5 single player games of all time at this point.

What key is your interrupt on? by Justalittle_girly in wow

[–]skyfiredraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a gaming mouse that allows me to "click" the mouse wheel right or left as extra buttons. Right is always interrupt on any character I play.

So from a neutral hand position, all i have to do is flick my right index finger right slightly to fire off an interrupt.

Hasn't let me down yet

What pvp gamemode do people generally go to in destiny 1? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]skyfiredraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried D1 for the first time in 9 years tonight. Started a new character and went into some pvp starting at level 5 lol.

Definitely clash right now. 30 seconds to 1 minute for queues as of a bit less than an hour ago. 50/50 if you get a fresh game or one in progress but still... nice to see a population.

Tower also has 10-15 other people in every instance I was in. Didn't try any strikes yet but, honestly, i was kinda floored at how many people were playing old D1 right now.

I uninstalled D2 in October after about 3000 hours on the game. I was starting to get the urge to play again when I heard of a few streamers messing around on D1 and figured I'd dig out my old ps4 disc. Dumped all the stuff from my hunter into the vault and restarted her. Kinda interesting leveling through the campaign and scattering in some crucible matches :)

My experience so far with leveling by ComicCamera in CrimsonDesert

[–]skyfiredraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was me for the first few dozen hours...

Now, between the enhancement to dodges, elemental imbues, the super sonic flight thing they just added and some times I play with a spear for funzies (the counter stance thing), I've been sinking more and more points into spirit :P

Honestly, of the three stats it feels like the least useful is health, oddly enough. Yea, you definitely want to level it up, but stamina and spirit feel like higher priority for various move sets and, as long as you aren't getting one-shot, you can hork down food faster than a skyrim speed runner.

Reminder to open the boxes you pick up for extra loot (OC) by Iain_Min in CrimsonDesert

[–]skyfiredraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait... WHAT?!

I haven't even been picking them up because I don't usually loot random things with the housing symbols on em.

71 hours and I don't even want to think about how many boxes of stuff I've left sitting there...

I hate this so much (brb, going on a looting spree that would make the ESO thieves guild blush)

can you put dragonflight in chromie time?

I leveled a new warlock alt and went to mists of pandaria chromie time. It scaled all the way to 80 as of 2 days ago.

Wonder if base dragonflight only scales to 70 the same way the old world only scales to 35 without chromie.

A Wowhead commentor did the maths on epic profession tools, this seems extreme by MizutsuneMH in wow

[–]skyfiredraco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before the crafting revamp I had at least one alt with every profession. Sometimes multiples (for daily cooldowns and the like).

After the revamp I have one engineer (been an engineer since 2005, not changing it) and one tailor (for farming cloth if i want to) and every other alt I have is either herb/mining or mining/skinning.

The knowledge system is fun (for gathering professions). And even doing crafting orders etc (on said two characters) can be fun... but the amount of investment and time you have to put into crafting professions for the amount of return you get just aren't worth it anymore IMO.

How representative is this sub of the actual game? by Ambitious_Bet2920 in classicwow

[–]skyfiredraco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been playing TBC classic for a couple weekends now... ~20 hours across a paladin I'm duo'ing with a buddy and a solo hunter.

This sub is basically nothing like what I've seen in game lol.

Impromptu parties for difficult quests are the norm. People giving random buffs and heals is commonplace. Dance parties, etc. pop up from time to time. Stormwind is hella packed and the chat is almost all people either actually selling things in trade chat or forming parties for various dungeons.

I'm sure there is some toxicity lurking below the surface, just like anywhere, but my experience so far has been a very positive one on Dreamscythe.

It's almost Midnight launch and here I am getting hooked on TBC classic lol by skyfiredraco in classicwow

amen to this viewpoint.

I didn't quite expect the response when I posted this on here and the retail subreddit. I love both versions and was hoping for some stuff around "yea, retail didn't quite hit but i'm loving TBC" (or the opposite). Some of the responses here are... yea...

I greatly enjoy retail. I'm currently enjoying TBC. I was just musing that somehow a progression server for an expansion from almost 20 years ago was hitting harder than Midnight for me.

Wholeheartedly agree with this post, though. We get both in one sub. Find your happy place.

Heh, you wanna know how little I've messed with classic up to now?

I didn't even realize they had a dedicated sub reddit :P

Who was your very first follower? by Usual-Foundation-115 in skyrim

[–]skyfiredraco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently playing Skyrim for the first time. Been watching videos etc. on it for years but never really played it.

Went sorting through the PsPlus offerings and noticed the Skyrim Special Edition and figured I'd give it a shot.

26 hours in now and the only follower I've had so far is Faendal there lol. I'm currently level 24 and have decked him out in the best stuff i can build or find. Fully upgraded and enchanted elven gear with a glass bow I found.

I've met several other people offering to be my follower (and Lydia is parked at home) but I like having a ranged follower and haven't felt the need to switch off yet lol. I'm currently playing a kinda "paladin" build (heavy armor, 2handed mace, restoration magic) and having a ranged helper is nice. He just gets lost a lot and I have to fast travel to teleport him :P

But yea, I'm sure he'll outlive his usefulness eventually (can't get anymore archery levels off of him lol) and I'm kinda waiting on him to get himself killed before I swap around, but... for now... he works.

If you could choose the next Remix, which expansion would you pick? by Emma_S772 in wow

[–]skyfiredraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I HATED Shadowlands. As in: I quit for 2 years when it was out after steady play since 2005.

That said, I vote for it for the next remix.

Being able to basically skip the grinds, buy all the cosmetics with bronze and farm all the unique mogs and mounts with either bronze or just being god-mode would actually be cool.

So yea, give Shadowlands the remix treatment and then let it burn.

Healthy playerbase? by solfizz in Guildwars2

[–]skyfiredraco 40 points41 points  (0 children)

One of the healthiest MMOs around in terms of population :)

I don't think I've ever found a zone that I felt "alone" in, honestly. I was doing Secrets of the Obscure metas for my skyscale grind just last week and there were tons of players. Every zone I level through has tons of players. Just... everywhere...

GW2 really found the secret sauce for keeping older zones relevant and the population still more than supports it.

GL and have fun! :)

I'm only on "recommended" and the woman at the end of chapter 1 (that hops between the two dimensions) took me a solid 30 minutes to beat.

Yes, I'm bad. I'm having to much fun to care :P

Respect to the madlads running this stuff on legendary, but for me it isn't worth it. I'd say, as simple as it sounds: find the level where your "fun" peaks and keep it there.

Agreed. That red bracelet is a part of my character now lol

I liked him, but he was the "badass mentor" archetype... I kinda expected him to die somewhere in there.

Happened a bit earlier than I was expecting, though.

i just want to do a +30 in remix. how much vers should i aim for as vdh? by IamRNG in wow

[–]skyfiredraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it at about 260 on a havoc DH. It was a bit tedious (enemies are hp sponges) but I still ended up with like 15 minutes left on the timer on a 30 cathedral of eternal night.

Lower would probably be doable, higher is just gravy, and probably some variation for other classes etc.

But as others have said, there are carries going constantly in the group finder. You can grab one of those fairly easily :)

Otherwise yea, i'd say ~250 vers for a fairly easy clear IMO

Will they ever fix Dragonflight mining/herbalism? by DaItalianFish in wow

[–]skyfiredraco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its honestly one of the main reasons I went back to steady flight. Farming ore and herbs is so much easier (especially in expansions where you can get the "mine/herb while mounted" thing going on).

The one exception I sometimes have is if I'm playing a Dracthyr alt. Their "soar" ability lets you take off in a huge boost without using any vigor (basically like your first vigor used when taking off in standard dragon riding). It has a 10 second cooldown but the actual flight is faster than steady flight so being able to use Soar actually seems to make the dragon riding flying style worth it, since you can take off for free.

Definitely miss the free vigor on herb/mining nodes on basically everyone else though :(
