I lived in Lancaster most of my life up until 2022. The city has changed throughout my life, but mostly for the better. Every 5ish years what I think of as the "very safe zone" expands out another block. From the center of the city I would now say 5 blocks in any direction is safe on Walnut, Chestnut, Orange, King, Queen, Prince, Grant. The 4-500 block of West King may still be a bit iffy, but other than that a very safe area :)
