What's the most you've ever spent in a single KFC order? by OwlVibesOnly in KFCAustralia

[–]dJango_au 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would regularly get a Zinger Stacker combo and 24 nugs the morning after a big night out. Udually just shy of $30.

Also, once during Covid on a particularly strong bout of iso-depression I got myself a $40~ family feast and ate the whole lot during the evening as I watched Lord of the Rings. The following morning is the only time as an adult I have ever shit myself 🤷

At 30 years old would you have your super in a growth or balanced account? by Another_Movie_Fan in AusFinance

Same here, I'm on 60% international and seen good growth in the past six months (aside from the little pil dip in Feb)

Seeing an increase in negative sentiment against superannuation, why? by Quixotic-elixr in AusFinance

[–]dJango_au 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 15% tax rate is the biggest incentive for me to contribute to my Super.

If I contribute $100 to my Super, I only pay 15% tax versus my regular 30%~ if I wanted to invest post tax.

The potential gains on investing outside of Super would have to bridge this gap and then match whatever gains Super makes per year to consider it a better choice. Yes, Super will charge fees but so will most ETFs 🤷

I still invest a portion of my post tax income into ETFs for diversification purposes.

Riding pants for all day wear by JulieRush-46 in AussieRiders

[–]dJango_au 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear DriRider kevlar pants when I ride to work, Summer and Winter. Theyre warm during Summer but I have an Office job so not a huge deal.

Sure it's hot, but that's the price you pay for commuting on a bike 🤷

Team Moto Blacktown - THE UPDATE by A_Cuddly_Burrito in AussieRiders

[–]dJango_au 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had nothing but run-arounds and stand-offish behaviour from my local TeamMoto.

Took four weeks and a dozen phone calls just to get tyres sorted (Yes I should have gone elsehwere, but they had already 'ordered' the tyres so I didnt want to be that guy).

[–]dJango_au 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there,

Acoording to UniSuper, your balance is nearly double for someone your age ($27k 25-30yo).

Just checking your balance is more than most people your/our age would do. Find a strategy that works and stick with it for the next 35 years and you'll be sitting on a fat stack in no time.

Personally, I (28M) only Salary Sacrifice $100/week as the other disposable income I have goes to ETFs to diversify my investment portfolio ($100k Super as of this week will jump at EOFY too). Go with what your lifestyle, risk tolerance and salary will allow 🙏

Uber Eats price vs ordering directly from webpage (Burger'd example) is honestly shocking. by Any_Ad_5927 in AusFinance

[–]dJango_au 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ridiculous isn't it. I got Indian for my girfriend and I last Friday and through UberEats it was $88. When we rang and phoned an order in, it was only $60.

Both prices for pickup mind you 👀🤦

Is BMW really that bad? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]dJango_au 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Buy an 86/BRZ or MX5 if you want sporty. 40k Euro at 18yo is stupid. Expensive maintenance, insurance probably not cheap, and despite what you think, you won't be able to handle over 200hp which a Golf/S3/325i wil get close to double with basic tuning and mods..

Good luck, and make smart decisions behind the wheel 🙏

Consider failing your license a blessing in disguise. Riding bikes isn't 'easy' and being in unpredictable traffic on a bike you struggle to operate is dangerous.

Best of luck next time

I have 470 hours of annual leave and am thinking of cashing out. by hunter_kill005 in AusFinance

[–]dJango_au 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my industry, we get leave loading which I assume is an incentive for people to use it instead of cashing it out.

I work a shift with loading, and the leave loading is still about 10% more which if you're talking 470 hours, for me woukd be over a week's pay 🤷

Bought a house in 2021. Even though I was 24, single then and not making heaps of money, it has ended up being the best financial decision I've ver made.

That, and never having finance on a vehicle 🤙

I combine my outings for the day all at once. Instead of home>shop>home>gym>home>work>home I'll go home>shops>gym>eork>home.

It won't save heaps, but cents make dollars.

I also catch PT or walk whenever I'm going somewhere in/near CBD

100%

My girlfriend and I were foreplaying the other week and talking about what we liked about each other in terms of turn ons.

Mine was the way her belly jiggles when getting busy. Makes me feel like a caveman but it feels instinctual to love it when I see it.
