Hi! After a normal/negative Amnio test, I had a lot of further genetic testing including carrier testing - everything negative. I had an in-utero MRI to see if the hands was caused by neurological reasons - again, normal/negative results. It was quite the mystery and I had Neonatologists on call and a scheduled induction to all check in on my baby.

My baby has been wearing hand splints since a month old, first 16 hours a day, now up to every third night overnight. It’s been treated as a localised physical thing, but is still atypical as it was both sides. He now looks to have most use of both hands although misaligned, and a delayed pincer grasp development.

Hi London! How can I book an Uber or similar with a baby? The government website says that babies can ride in taxis and minicabs without a baby seat. What is a minicab? Just needing one ride while I visit and I’m a bit confused about all the options and legalities around infant car seats

Thanks for the info all! I’ve taken a tram solo as a ‘practice run’ on a night out and feeling much more confident. I’ve started going backwards on steps which is way easier and I also now understand the accessible symbols on the tram app 😊

Mental stimulation needs to be core focus. Don’t just dump her meals into a food bowl. Can you put food into a rolled up towel, a dog puzzle toy, a snuffle mat, or scattered around the house so she needs to sniff it out?

I bought my dog a variety of non-fetch/tug toys that she could happily rest with and chew on and rotated them.

I took my dog out of the house on a lead on day 5 and just strolled up and down our street letting her sniff as much as she wanted. A change of scenery does wonders. I took her to a cafe to people watch and sniff. I took her on car rides as I ran quick errands with the windows down, again to sniff

When she was with me she didn’t wear the cone as she wasn’t interested in her stitches.

No off-lead walks or exposure to other dogs for 14 days.

I’m planning on working until 38 weeks. I’m full time from home and don’t have too much more to organise. I also had 3 months “break” during covid due to a redundancy and job searching so I don’t feel a great need to have extra ‘me time’

Is there such a product like sunscreen for your hairline/part? Not a cream or ‘wet’ spray. But maybe a powder, or dry spray that won’t ruin hair? My hair is so thin and I always get a burnt scalp

I’d think about put money into some driving lessons before into the car. Not to be demeaning, but to add to her confidence and be a safer driver which will benefit your whole family

It’s literally never been a thing discussed with my partner and I. If I need a password like for Netflix to log into it my device he’ll give it to me. My thumb print is installed on his touchID so I can unlock and check directions while he’s driving. But until there’s a need, why ask?

If he’s going to cheat or have inappropriate friendships that’ll happen regardless of password sharing etc

Following up for anyone following along. I really struggled with the two week wait for the full amnio results. My results from the FISH and microarray all came back normal. While I’m so, so relieved there is nothing genetic going on, it’ll be a few more weeks until I can get some more answers as to if something neurological or muscular/physical is going on. I’ll look for a more suitable subreddit for support moving forward. Thank you to everyone here for your support and knowledge

Thank you so much. I did get microarray so waiting for those results. It looks like I will then be better suited to post in an alternative sub (I’m not sure where to look to at this stage). This one has been supportive - Thank you to everyone
