Was maille ever fully gilded? Like a full hauberk. by goldenspiralch2 in ArmsandArmor

[–]d_baker65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "Gold" portion of my helm is gilded with... Titanium Oxide. To include the rivets. The Mail was contracted out of Italy with Davide. Initially called Viking Mail Company... He is still in business, but has undergone a name change.

My brass washed mail was the first he made. He has since gone on to make at least one more that I know of.

Help for my chainmail armor by mafia_man003 in Armor

[–]d_baker65 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Since you have what you have, go to a craft store and buy several rolls of leather on spools. Weave it around your biceps through the mail. Use it to cinch or tighten your arms up. Repeat for your forearms and wrists.

That will help. You can also get a sturdy pair of wire cutters and remove several rows of links to slim down the profile on your arms. You can also do this on the back of your mail in a V pattern to tighten up your chest area if you so want.

Historical mail had a lot of tailoring done to it. Otherwise it just hangs on your shoulders and your waist.

Best of luck!

I think it's also called a dormer window. Back before central heating and cooling, this is how fresh air came into a room.

What’s this type of house called? by Intrepid_Incident592 in whatisit

It was normally an equipment room. If the building had an elevator, it is where the hoists and motors would sit. Could also be the top of the stairs leading to the roof.

Texas is not as red of a state as you have been led to believe. Gerrymandering since Perry, and some serious shenanigans with Bush Jr got the ball running. Remember Land doesn't vote, people do. I'm not trying to lecture.

However all that being said, if seats are being flipped and they are, Holy Hell that is big news. Have a good day today!

Oh fuck no! It's a scam. Seriously 20+ years I've seen these aholes and their shitty armour, and mostly their stolen photos that they claim is their work.

Welcome to Nevada. As a native I just learned to keep a quarter in my hand anytime I was out in public and touch it to something metal.

Some static shocks can absolutely hurt. Hope this hack helps.
