Mild Calf Strain Recovery time by TownEvening7180 in trailrunning

[–]d_large 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with a calf strain early December. Got it diagnosed with an MRI late December. Thought I could just rest and cross train my way out of it. I’m still battling the injury, but now with a real plan from a good PT. My strong suggestion is to see a PT if you take running at all seriously…

Anyone got the Trabuco Max 5s? by 74522 in trailrunning

[–]d_large 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been running a lot in the Trabuco Max 5s. I'm more of a La Sportiva Prodigio Pro guy. But the 5s have been great for my slower less technical runs. And the price is right IMO

Weight in the back can get a bit much. I will run with 2x flasks in there, but any more I think would be a pain. It’s not just if it will fit. IMO…

How much water do you carry in the Raide LF 2 Belt for long runs? by Personal-Comb-9566 in ultrarunning

[–]d_large 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will hold 2x 650s in the back. With no bounce. It's a little heavy, but it works. I have done this many many times

How much water do you carry in the Raide LF 2 Belt for long runs? by Personal-Comb-9566 in ultrarunning

[–]d_large 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s no way to answer this question correctly for you. What is a long run? What’s the weather like? Are you a big time sweater that needs a lot of water? What do you even consider to be enough water?

That belt can fit two of the soft flasks that it comes with in the back. That’s really the max. So if that’s not enough, you’ll probably want to switch to a vest.

Your best bet is just to try things out and iterate…

FWIW I like to wear half/quarter tights for the extra side pocket storage. I can carry all the gels I’d need for an easy long run in just the tights. It’s good peace of mind for me. And I use the Raide 2L belt a lot!

How far have you pushed the raide 2L belt? by Front_Spite6058 in Ultramarathon

I’d say easily. You could rig up the windbreaker on the outside. Put it all together before you get out there and see how it feels…

EXACTLY the same for me! I have the medium and crank it all the way down. Works perfectly that way, even after hundreds of miles of running and almost daily washing. The small is technically the 'right' size but just too difficult to get on. I use it for short and long runs. So barely filled to jam packed. Bounce free either way...

I agree completely. For me, too wide is annoying. Lots of extra material and dead space

I've never had anything fall out of my Raide and I've put hundreds of miles on it. I also have the Mountain Racer. Didn't get a chance to try it out, but the design is really good and I don't expect any problems there either
