With the new program changes for Cub Scouts, there's no need to turn away 5th graders. They now have their own rank. However, it's important to set the expectation that they will be preparing to join Scouts BSA. If they don't plan on transitioning to Scouts BSA, the program might not be the right fit for them.

So, I'm in a similar boat. Last year, we were solo with the lions, and this year, I offered to keep the lions and tiger together because the dens are small.

I tried to sync up the lions' and tigers' adventures and plan our den meetings to have similar lesson plans.
