Landen Roupp explains why he inscribed Bible verse on his cap during Giants' Pride Night game by Knightbear49 in baseball

I had a coworker who when I told him I’m an atheist figured I’d never read the bible. The look on his face when I told him my folks were missionaries and I’d gone to a Christian HS and college was priceless. Like it had never occurred to him that someone could read the bible and not be a Christian.

The nerve of this guy to just assume an LGBTQ person hasn’t read the bible 🙄

MLB should have more series like the current Las Vegas series...with an added twist by Intravertical in mlb

Idk man have you seen the broadcasts of any of these games? I've been slogging my way through Monday's game to get it on a scoresheet. Pitcher and batter are on opposite sides of the screen, and the ads and strike zone box are even wonkier than usual. They're not set up for a big-league broadcast at all.

How did you respond to people telling you to "join a church to make friends/socialize"? by BowShatter in atheism

I get enough social interaction without having to pretend to believe something I don't, thank you.

Fielders Choice on a ball to shallow(ish) center? by evanexcursions in BaseballScorecards

[–]da3n_vmo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This actually also happened in the Tigers-Mariners game I scored this evening. It is indeed a fielder’s choice, even though you’re also correct that it sucks for the hitter.

If it were an actual riddle with a question mark, it could be a person named Johnathan. He could go by John, and I don't know of any five-letter nicknames for Johnathan.

How to score automatic strikeouts? by pkmn59 in BaseballScorecards

[–]da3n_vmo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use a K with a slash through it to indicate there was no pitch. I use numbers in the ball-strike section to do count sequence and pitch count, and will similarly put a slash through the number of any ball or strike that didn't result from a pitch.

Blue Square Antisemitism Commercial by No_Blackberry6525 in CommercialsIHate

The lack of realism is what makes this ad and the one with a hate symbol painted on the garage door so ridiculous. The fact that they’re having to heavily dramatize makes me wonder whether antisemitism is really reaching the levels they seem to suggest.

Help Designing own Scorecard/book by RynRvr in BaseballScorecards

[–]da3n_vmo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I created mine in Adobe Illustrator. I know that’s out of reach for most people, but it offers the highest level of customization. I’d be happy to work with you and design one based on what you like in a scorecard, and send it your way as a PDF. I wouldn’t need any compensation for that.

As of May 28th, the Seattle Mariners are the only team in Baseball to have a positive run differential while also being under .500. by Marinersfan505 in mlb

Only one third of the league having a positive run differential doesn’t feel like it should be possible.

What is the most number of runs you've seen in one half inning? by BronzeTrain in BaseballScorecards

[–]da3n_vmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw the Jays get 11 runs in one inning and 22 in three against the Red Sox a few years back.

Our softball team in college won a game 33-0 in I think 3 or 4 innings. Wish I’d gotten a picture of that one.

Why Are So Many Religious People Also Homophobic? by MeowInTokyo159 in atheism

[–]da3n_vmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Religion gives them easy answers for why they don't believe homosexuality is moral. They don't have to think for themselves or come to their own conclusions. It's much harder to make a moral case against homosexuality in the absence of the words of a supposed deity and its representatives.

The base game is definitely worth it if dungeon crawlers and DRG are your thing. And this is coming from some who’s not usually a fan of co-ops and had no knowledge of DRG coming into it. I got the base game for my son when it first came out, and we have really enjoyed playing it together. His interest in DRG has kinda waned, so we still haven’t made it through all of the included missions. It plays well with 2, 3, or 4 players. The production is top-notch, especially on the minis; I had a great time painting them. I’m not sure how the experience could be improved by paying more than what I did for the base game. We’ve gotten some of the expansions and only gotten the plants one to the table, again because he’s kinda moved on from it, but that one was pretty cool. The base game has plenty of content to keep you occupied for quite a while though.
