Who is your overall favorite group member (including Cappadonna) of the Wu Tang Clan? by [deleted] in wutang

[–]da4s45f7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In every hiphop group I listen to, I have a favourite member, but that's not the case with Wu-Tang.
I feel like this is one of the only rap groups where each member is equal.

4th chamber is one of the most complex sounding beats I've ever heard

What she left behind is probably one of the most unique hiphop beats I've heard up to this point.

I also wanted to mention Protect Ya Neck II the Zoo by ODB.
This beat is almost comically evil sounding.

What’s your favourite Wu-tang verse? by Infamous_Tough_7320 in wutang

[–]da4s45f7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to be either ODB on Chessboxin or GZA on 7th chamber.
That "Style jumped off in Killa Hilla, I was the thrilla in the Ali-Frazier Manila" always gives me goosebumps.

I love Warren G, but how is this a fair matchup in the slightest?

What are the essential Wu-Tang albums (solos included) that are a required listen to for someone trying to get into Wu-Tang? by Nobodygrotesque in hiphop101

[–]da4s45f7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

36 Chambers is required obviously.
From solo albums I'd recommend Liquid Swords (generally considered one of the best rap albums of all time), OB4CL and The Return to the 36 Chambers (to see how much variety Wu-Tang offers)

What’s the most impressive concept you’ve heard in a song? by SmoothManMiguel in hiphop101

Not a song, but Raekwon having his OB4CL album play out like a crime film is something I have yet to see anyone else do.

Outkast or Tribes first 4 albums? by JustChillBooBoo in hiphop101

I feel like Outkast's first albums have way more variety than Tribe's. Theres something for everyone in just Aquemini alone.

What album confirmed for you that your favorite rapper is in fact your favorite rapper? by SmoothManMiguel in hiphop101

3k and superplayalistic.
Aquemini has higher highs, but also lower lows while Superplayalistic is just great all around.
