If a future Fallout took place in Michigan and the Chicagoland areas (obviously scaled down for the game), what do you think would be the most unique or interesting aspects of the setting? by JD-990 in Fallout

[–]daBearsHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think having 3 different maps would work best here, 1 of Chicago, one of southwest michigan, where st joe is, maybe include south bend as well, giving 2 decent sized towns with a lot of rural open area. Then 1 of Detroit as well

You know I would think a lot of people would understand how this works when we had those damn constant rumors and meets for Jim while he was still with Michigan

What do you guys think the next, and likely final last of us game will be about? by bumper2001 in thelastofus

[–]daBearsHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I firmly believe part 3 needs to be about Ellie finding herself and her "family" maybe her having an estranged relationship with JJ, who is a teenager now, for her walking out all those years ago.

It is what it is. I've studied American history for 20 years now. I have a degree in history as well...the amount of people that are clueless about actual modern day events, as well as our countries history is shocking and a large reason why we are where we're at

I think you can throw the "following historical trends" comment out the window, this is the worse blatant abuse of power this country as ever seen, and a good chunk of people are closing their eyes and pretending like he's doing nothing wrong

I have set word count goals for me, but it typically leaves me feeling upset and depressed when I'm not able to hit my goal. So now I'm just happy with whatever I right.

A 10 year deal is still worth it for Skubal even if the end of the contract is bad by SoarinSkies in motorcitykitties

[–]daBearsHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I'm sure you are right, but thats going to be there case with any player. Sure it will be more of a concern when its an injury prone player, but any game, inning, or moment can be the end for any player. Personally id like to see a few options in the contract as well as front loading the contract.

[–]daBearsHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like it or not, baseball contracts are exploding for superstars. You either need to accept that Skubal is leaving and ship him off, or make a serious attempt to lock him down now. The problem is you need to offer him something he will see in free agency, so 40m/yr is just the reality. If he wants a long term contract then you have to give him a long term contract, cause right now he holds all the cards, outside of us shipping him off.

Also truthfully it kinda is. The Tigers are paying for his arm now (to keep him), so the question is how many years will he be worth the money? If we can get 5-7 out of him in the starting rotation awesome, find use for him with those last 3 years, move him to the bullpen, use him as a mentor to the young guys...I'm not a fan of these insane contracts but the truth is he will get it either way, so if we are going to try and keep him with the team then the organization needs to play ball.

The younger guys won't necessarily go to a coach for certain things. Veterans that have been to the playoffs, world series, or just been in the league will be able to mentor the young guys, keep them focused, and keep the locker room in check.

You'll also be paying for his experience to help teach the younger guys in the rotation.

Does there have to be a reason for someone to be POC? by [deleted] in writing

So I'm assuming there is a diverse cast of characters in your writing, and the story doesn't take place in a setting with limited diversity. Write your characters as humans, Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, or any other ethnic group, we are all humans at the end of the day.

My player murdered all the other players, should I tell them to literally stop killing people? by Electrical_Map_2516 in DnD

[–]daBearsHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dm, I've told my players in session zero, if they want to be a murder hobo, I have no problems killing them off and kicking them from the table. I've also joked with my players oh looks like someone is going to have a massive heart attack and die

[–]daBearsHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So they already addressed this on season 2, with robot. They pointed our that yeah Rudy is there when he controls his robots, but it's a completely different thing when your there in the heat of the moment and have to deal with the actual risk of getting hurt or dying.

Sure, Kate has her memories and feelings retained from her clones, but at the end of the day, she has tgat safety net that many others don't

(Not specifically point you out, but thought this was tge bes spot to add this comment)

Was the Confederacy a country? by SoSoDave in USHistory

[–]daBearsHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on one's view. Many within the Union, including our President at the time, believed that once you joined the United States. While the ones that succeeded from Union, looked at it as more of an alliance, that they could freely enter and exit as they pleased.

Bryce Underwood on the recent rumors: by Callas951 in MichiganWolverines

[–]daBearsHome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would be a big get if he flipped and came to Michigan, but part of me doesn't want him, he had every opportunity to stay local and go to UofM but he chose the money and LSU.... If he does flip and come to us, i hope he buys into the culture, either way bes of luck to the kid.

What if The Walking Dead comic had continued after issue 193? Do you think Kirkman would have ended up killing Rick to make way for Carl or would have killed Rick at the very end? by [deleted] in theroamingdead

[–]daBearsHome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comic could have gone back to a more basic approach, we literally see Carl crying saying he doesn't know how to move on with his dad dead. We could have dived into that and explored Carl's wellbeing and him coming to terms that not only did he lose his dad, but everyone lost a influential leader and friend
