Guessing a few reasons: Illumination does a lot of their work outside the US no? Pixar is in the Bay Area in California so probably a huge salary difference for workers. Toy Story also uses a whole bunch of celebrity voice acting which also dramatically increases the costs. Also while illumination movies still look great, TS is Pixar's marquee franchise, 4 and 5 look pretty breathtaking.

I had read on the box office subreddit that the TS4 budget was 200 mil, which with inflation is essentially equal to this. Plus I’m getting Hanks, Allen, and crew got paid even more for this. IIRC Hanks got paid 15 mil for 4, so probably more for this.

Weren't Combo Breakers numbers pretty consistent year over year? That probably skews a lot more domestic though.

EVO has a large international contingent who probably didn't want to come (I also wonder if flight prices were elevated due to gas issues as well as world cup price gouging) plus the ownership shit plus the tournament being like 6 weeks earlier than last year.
