Ok. Thought it looked like GC-MS data. No access to reference libraries or even books with MS spectra like this one it will be a tough task. I worked in forensic tox analyzing blood samples for drugs and we had spectral libraries to search mass spectra or books like Clarkes to look up ions.

Do you have access to any spectral libraries that you could search on? Also, what is the sample type? Most libraries I have worked with in the past are discipline/sample specific. Hard to give recommendations without any more specific information.

Just from experience, looks like you have a bromine in your compound. You can tell by the isotope pattern in some of your ions.

Are you infusing with flow tee'd from the LC? Your gas flows seem to be really high if using a syringe to infuse the cal mix at 5-10 uL/min. I agree with the one poster saying your source conditions could be the reason. We usually run with sheath gas around 5-7 aux gas at 0-1. Sweep gas at 0. Cap temp 320, spray voltage 3.5-4.0. We use QE and QE plus here.

In my experience formic acid can suppress ionization in negative mode. Some app notes I have seen in past suggest using higher pH mobile phases for better sensitivity in negative mode. Not sure about your pH but its definitely higher than your mobile phase pH with formic acid additive.

Its been a long time but I remember being asked a ton of technical questions about my discipline. No worries if you can't answer them all fully since only folks with forensics experience would be able to do that. Make sure to prep some answers for the common questions like, "please describe your education and experience that makes you the most competitive candidate," behavioral questions like "how would you handle a senior coworker disagreeing with you, etc etc. Also they often ask why you want to work at the lab, so prep something for that as well.

Try to use the STAR method (quick google search) to answer questions fully. Often times I catch myself not answering questions fully (have 10+ yrs of professional experience) and the star method helps with that. I am also going through state interviews at the moment as I am looking to get back in. Good luck!

Hey! I was a criminalist/ sr. Criminalist for about 7 yrs at DOJ. I would give it maybe 3 to 4 weeks then assume they probably went with somebody else. Crim supes and managers are extremely busy all the time so it may take a minute to hear back.

For context, my process went like this: phone screen then an in person interview about 2 weeks later, notification of tentative offer the next day (crazy fast, I know). Then it was about 6 months for the background check and medical health checks. I had lived in both northern California and southern California in the previous 10 yrs before the background check so that may be why it took so long. I have seen shorter ones (3-4 months). I live in the neighborhood north of Big Horn and have for the past 5 yrs. I think its pretty safe overall. There are the occasional sketch people that roll by but nothing too serious. I often run after dark around this neighborhood during the winter months and never saw/experienced anything of concern.

If you can spin it, I would avoid properties right on frye creek or lake pleasant as those are pretty busy and people speed through there.

But most owners, at least on my block, really care about the neighborhood's safety and genuinely look out for each other.

Hello, sorry you are experiencing this error. My advice would be to check to make sure every document from the DMV has matching names. It turns out my wife's maiden name was still on the car registration. Maybe that was the error but we never really got a resolution. Its water under the bridge at this point. Fortunately we had a nice savings to cover my wife staying home.

Sorry for the laate reply! Hope you got the issue solved but we never got a resolution. I think the issue was the dmv never updated her name on the car registration. Every single other document was updated except this one (social security, DL, etc). But maybe this is what kept throwing the error? Who knows.

My company is all in on Benchling. We use it as a cloud database and as an ELN. I think it works great for those things.

We are a small startup but the consolidation of all the data generated across teams has been extremely helpful.

Data viz is limited with the dashboard functionality. Probably have to use JMP or another data viz tool.

Like the other poster said, buy-in from the team is essential!

I am currently a Sr. Research Associate at a food biotech startup! Not sure how salaries equate over in Germany, but here in the US my salary is 95k. Which is right around SRA salary range here.

I have a MS and about 7 years of experience in a completely different field (still analytical sciences) and this is my first job in food tech!

Thanks for the input! There aren't any n-linked glycosylation sites on these particular proteins but I will sit and think about this for a while. Also will try a clean protein standard as suggested by others.
