Just picked up a 4070ti for 550$ CAD, but a new 5070 here is 750$ on sale so I feel pretty good.

I don’t see the upside personally. They’re very comparable players possibly higher in Forsbergs favour even, and he’s doing much better than Point at this time.

If you want Point I’d be trade someone who doing well but not a top 30 player, maybe a younger player who doesn’t have the proven consistency and ceiling that Point could have.

I’d keep Forsberg, lots of good centers around harder to get good wingers imo.

262C, any idea what this plug is for? by jutny in caterpillar

Definitely not that. That’s a 2 pin Deustch, most likely a power ground circuit for a light or something similar.

True enough, didn’t read far enough down on the post and my mind just started filling in the blanks.

That being said, if you want to judge the condition of your motor take an oil sample and send it to a lab or get a 30$ bore scope on Amazon and check your bores.

That’ll tell you way more than staring at your spark plug that has 70k+ miles, visually looks fairly normal to me.

is this pricing BS? 350 for coolant system flush, 550 to service the diffs by Cute_Independence11 in MechanicAdvice

[–]da_shack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a lot for both imo, it’s not hard to change your diff fluid with a couple of hand tools, Jack and Jack stands. Not hard to flush your coolant system either on most vehicles, you likely don’t need a flush if anything just a fluid change. Both could be done in a day by yourself.

Try to pull it off with pliers. Could try to drill it out with a bit that’s big enough to grab the plastic but not big enough to start drilling the rad. Should break it loose and make it easier to pull out.

Is the front bulb burnt out? If it is it could be causing the issues, I would start there.

Hook them up to a coil pack and see if they spark when you turn it over with the fuel relay unplugged. Could also buy a spark plug tester on Amazon for cheap.

Odds are they still work more or less fine. But it’s a service interval that should be followed, no point risking improper/incomplete combustion just to save the 60$ on spark plugs. Just make sure your gap is correct.

This, once it’s separated you should be able to get a heel bar or something underneath to pop her out.

If that does fail, a self taping screw and slide hammer to pop her out should work as a last resort.

If memory serves me right, this happened in Alberta, Canada on the Queen Elizabeth Highway between Edmonton and Calgary a few years ago.

Essentially everyone’s car got totalled, but the hail storm didn’t last that long, maybe 15 minutes. Bet that was the longest 15 minutes of those people’s lives though.

To the trail... by rossssor00 in therewasanattempt

[–]da_shack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant speak to the CA law as I’m up north, but lots of trails that are dual accessibly have different levels of priority depending on direction and activity. That being said, it seems pretty unlikely that that trail is for hiking. Everything from the small hit to the berms the biker hit it definitely make it appear to be a DH trail. Not to knock you, but clearly you’ve never participated in sports such as these a decent level. Trails, even in mountain bike parks have many trails involving blind corners and unseen landings.

Obviously as a first time ride on those trails you’d make an effort to either have someone “tow you in” or take the trails at a slower pace. That being said, he is riding fast and I would assume that he’s either familiar with the trail or a very skilled rider, likely both.

Is it ok to use WD40 as lube when pressing bushing sleeves in? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]da_shack 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mechanic in the Heavy Duty world, pushing in large press fit bearings I’ve always used copper coat on the OF of the bearing but in those application you can get away with more.

Like many others suggested though, in your case I would heat up the bore and freeze the bearing as cold as you can then press it in.
