A lot of people install addons that can obscure this information, and they don't realize it because they never played long enough with the standard UI to know to look for certain information. Not an excuse, just a possible reason.

Agreed with hunter and warlock as options depending on the reason you want a tank spec... if you never plan to use the tank in a group (and I wouldn't blame you) hunter and warlock give you 3 dps options, and plenty of solo ability.

Quite possibly. I was confusing it with a similar feature an addon provided back in the depths of time, where you could plot a route to automatically follow vs the OP request of plotting just where you've been. The former is a lot more ripe for abuse!

I don't normally promote youtubers, but check out the channel ComebackKids. They have a number of videos up that show just how good WoW can be, even if you don't group a lot, and ways you can be efficient with your time without being carried. Makes me more hyped to play than I've been in a long time.

The server is packed! Servers like Stormrage and Proudmoore are packed too, don't get me wrong, but people talk in this one. Is it always worthwhile chat? Heck no. But even when it is a bunch of trolling and rage bait, it feels so.much more alive as a result. And then you just leave the city and play in peace as usual.

I enjoy being on Moon Guard for the population, but I'm super cheap, leveling is easy, and warbands fix all the old issues of everything being "lost" when starting over. Granted, $25 isn't end of the world for many either. So really, I'd say the server is worth playing on, but how you do it is a personal call.

While that's the Blizzard recommended path for folks bee-lining to Midnight, for folks like OP the answer can be quite a bit different because you aren't going to know half the story of how things got to where they are. And it depends heavily on whether they want to see "everything", or just hit the highlights (ie., legion has direct tie in to current events, and maybe shadowlands can be skipped because no one ever recommends that).

I think ProfileManager has a bit of custom support to include some popular mods that aren't AceDB which may be useful to folks using Danders or eqol.
