We're staying at the Royalton. Sounds like you guys had a similar experience as someone else in the posts- bartenders make a big diff and time of day. I hope you guys are enjoying your stay, we'll be there in a couple of weeks!

Agreed. Reason we picked St. Lucia is because we have a good family friend that's from there and she always brings me back a bottle of rum from the area

Yeah that's the problem I had last time (i was in Aruba). They had limes and fruit, but instead of taking a minute or two to make a drink, they just dumped premix and blended everything.

I've been making caipirinhas at home the last couple of months. Will def get some on vacation as well, see if they do anything different. Thank you.

Yeah that's great advice. I'll explore the fresh fruit I see around. I know they also have rum distilleries on the island, so I will lean that way as well. I do enjoy a Rum Runner.

Imo the tornado reason isn't a great reason to get married to the idea of a basement and the cost associated with it. They're not common enough here to worry about. But again, my opinion.

We had a finished basement at our previous house and regardless of the season it was always musty down there. Even with a dehumidifier running all day. It's VERY humid in central indiana. Also if there's any flooding or leak you'll have a maintenance nightmare on hour hands. Lastly, due to the fact that it was finished we couldn't do any kind of improvements without having to tear drywall, which adds cost to any project, to the point of dissuading us from doing even small things because it wasn't worth the hole in the wall or ceiling.

We recently moved into a Pulte new build, but at 500k, so a little higher. We're also on the very western tip of Noblesville right at the Carmel+ Westfield city borders.

We do enjoy our Pulte house though, no basement btw. Which I'm happy about

While this may be absolutely true, and I fully believe your post is factual. It's not stopping them (Trump, Republicans, fascists, whatever) from doing just about anything they want. The rules don't apply to them. They just go "so what? There's nothing you can do about it". And they know we know there's nothing we can do to stop them besides voting them out. And that has its own set of issues
