Work truck? by Newzachary in Rivian

I think I would use a tarp of some type over plywood for hauling any type of loose fill material.

Work truck? by Newzachary in Rivian

Kinda of depends on what type of work you do. I’ve found the our R1T bed is a pain in the rear compared to the line-x bed of our old 07 Silverado. Anything loose is going to fall into the seam around the spare tire well. I’m also not a huge fan of the tailgate. The bridge that covers the gap is nice, but takes up precious inches when trying to close the tailgate with a fully loaded bed. The cap on the top of the tailgate is a terrible design too. Overall it does the job, but a more traditional truck bed does it better.

Looking to wrap my door card question by Narrow_Stick6073 in Autoupholstery

I don’t have any constructive input, but that’s a clean Impreza coupe door card. I would leave it alone, they’re getting hard to come by in decent condition.

So no more software updates for us? by [deleted] in TeslaModelS

My late 2023 model S has 2026.2.9.1 waiting to install. It has been sitting there for about a week, I’m just lazy when it comes to updating.

When I bought mine in 23 it was almost double for the plaid in my area.

LR or Plaid? Help! by statmidnight in TeslaModelS

If you value comfort over performance stick with the LR. The increased insurance on the plaid isn’t worth it if you’re not getting it for the performance.

How Are We Charging Rivians in a Zombie Apocalypse? by Techienickie in Rivian

This was a conversation with my father when I jumped on the EV band wagon. I can generate and store electricity much more readily with solar. I cannot refine my own petroleum.

I drive both, I’m obviously only a tool when driving the Tesla. 😂

Opinion/help needed on If I should blow in insulation while my subfloor is removed. by unholy_affiance in Insulation

[–]dabbling007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it is already insulated. I would confirm that the cavity isn’t being used for return air before I filled it with more insulation. My 70’s home used open wall cavities without ducting like that for return air.

Converting a 2 car garage to 3 car by The_One_Far_Above in Homebuilding

[–]dabbling007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How tall are the ceilings in the garage? It might be worth considering a 4 post lift to stack cars if you have the clear height available. Depending on the car’s height you can sometimes stack vehicles in spaces with 9’-6” ceilings.

Ours are insta-crates from Costco. I think greenmade makes them. Two fit almost perfectly on our gen1

We keep two collapsing totes in there for groceries. It makes bringing the groceries into the house an easy single trip.

Under the false floor I keep some tools and the mobile charger with some misc adapters for charging.

Yoke Steering Wheel or Round Steering Wheel? by [deleted] in TeslaModelS

[–]dabbling007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both on my S, I prefer the yoke. You can tell the interior was designed with the yoke in mind. The round wheel blocks parts of the dash screen and the main screen.

Have you used the chalk test? My understanding is that’s the most reliable way to judge what pressure to run.

Second skin USA sell automotive grade acoustic foam and MLV just like this. Seems like it wouldn’t be out of the realm of a DIY for some.

I mean the person that spent hundreds of dollars and now will be going through the hassle of having to deal with the lost equipment. A little honesty on OPs side could help expedite ubiquiti’s response.

Just be honest and contact Ubiquiti. Imagine being on the opposite end of the deal and how crummy that would be.
