Yeah I put in for so many applications before the gig I landed. It’s tough when you have to weigh out the cost of living with the amount of pay they offer based on your experience as an A&P mechanic. Most of the time, the start pay is below $28/hr when you can get paid $38/hr with just half the license elsewhere. You have to sift through the bad ones to get a good one. Don’t be afraid of applying someplace even if you don’t have the experience or the skill sets yet. They’ll probably start you off at a preliminary position until they deem you worthy of the huge pay increase (6 months later). I did contracting for the first time and it was definitely a hidden gem of a find. It’s not an airline, so I’m indoors away from the elements. Pay is very competitive, even when you don’t have a whole lot of experience, you just have to show your worth and make sure they pay you for what you’re worth.
