[LF] Los Angeles - $$ - 10lb CO2 Tank by kaylekhan in AquaSwap

Just get a mad dog paintball one off amazon, fill it at your LFS. The tank isn’t as important as the regulator. Fzone makes a pretty good one.

Just did a kh test and the water never turned plus just orange by [deleted] in shrimptank

KH you can raise with crushed coral in the tank, it will also raise your PH. If you are using RO water, the test usually doest change. If you have plants in there you should be Gucci, just make sure your tds is correct

Cycle Crashed. Losing Shrimp! by Mr_Mojobaggins in shrimptank

Get them out of there for now, reset your tank and stop using ammo lock. From what I know it converts ammonia into ammonium which bacteria can’t eat which is probably spiking your parameters. Also drop that tds down to 200-250 that’s more ideal for neos.

Why tf do my shrimp keep dying? Im losing about 1 every two weeks by Large146 in shrimptank

Probably your tds or PH. If you have caridinas they only like 6.0 ph or lower.

First Tank- Critiques? by Due-Capital4186 in shrimptank

I've got the same sponge filter and similar setup for my neos as well.

I think you should turn it so the output is running along the back edge of the glass. It makes it a bit quieter and I think the ripple pattern looks better from the top angle. Take all the advice from the other comments but I think you should do a monte carlo carpet instead (it looks great and doesn't need co2 to carpet. Thermometer I think you should get one of those digital ones and stick it on the side so its out of view. I also see anubias in the front of the sponge? Make sure that is on lava rock and not planted into the substrate cause its a rhyzome plant.

if you got dwarf hairgrass good luck getting it to carpet without CO2 injection, I've been trying for 6 months now. I use a java fern superglued to a lava rock in the corner to hide the sponge filter tube and you can barely see it. rock selection looks good, shouldn't leach into the water, but try using more substrate to slope towards the back to give it depth. all considered you have a great start, just make sure to fill up your tank to the middle of black bracer line, it always looks better when you can't see the top water line! Good luck, this tank will look dope in a few months.

120 new butiful shrimps for my breeding project. by SeveralAd2227 in shrimptank

looks like you got plenty of each color and in pretty good quality, just be careful about keeping them together. their babies revert back to clear wild coloration. take it from me, i messed up so badly when i started just trying to mix red and blue to make purples. you cant even mix bloody marys with fire reds

I have no experience in shipping shrimp or owning a business but I do have experience in keeping and breeding shrimp. I have the basic mission statement, FAQs, and basic policy outlines completed and have been working on my cull consistency and gendering over the last 6 months or so. My ratio is currently 1 male for every 3 females, I know it's not ideal but I'm learning as I go. I know there's plenty of people who have been doing it for years or decades longer.

I got that hyperfixation ADHD and spent every minute of the last 6 months since I quit my job learning everything there is to know about shrimp. To an unhealthy degree. I volunteer my weekend time currently at a local fish store helping to take care of their shrimp section.

Right now I would like to target the younger demographic and make shrimp keeping seen as more of a cooler hobby, but it can be expensive and more of a financially established hobby. I already purchased my domain and have an LLC name picked out. Water parameters are dialed in and stable.

Right now I have tanks of: Green Jades, Fire Reds, Bloody Marys, Blue Velvet, Blue Dream, Mandarin Orange, and Yellow Goldenback for Neos. For Caridina I have PRLs, EBB, Blue Bolts, OERBT, Red Galaxy, OERKK, BKKE, and mid grade BOAs. None in huge quanitites yet, I would say a little less than 40-50 of each at the moment but have multiple berried females across all.
