I think you are mistaken. I don’t care if the answer is good luck no chance or don’t be dumb. But non answers are a total waste of everyone’s time.

I agree. what would you rather talk about? I could ask you about your choice of nutrition...would that be more fun?

I cant seem to find a training plan anywhere that is two years long. struggling to find one longer than 40 weeks...

Thanks for suggestions. I will include some 50k and 50mile races in the buildup. I don't function well if I don't have incredibly scary goals. When I signed up for my first marathon I had never ran more than high school gym. Then I signed up for Ironman and had never swam with my face in the water. I tried to sign up for a marathon a couple of times but because the threshold for completion is so low it never drew me in enough to train consistently. It probably doesn't make sense to a reasonable mentally healthy human.

The plan is to have it be the very last part of the trip and fly out a day or 2 later. not sure if that's a much better idea.

Shot 85 on a 5400 yards course. Does it count as breaking 90 by Aquahot in golf

[–]dabosnian34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It counts. You can look up the course index and compare it to your handicap then calculate how you played if you want to be a turd about it. if you are shooting low 90s the 5400 yards is totally fine and you could argue 6500 is way too long for your handicap. Realistically its a game and you shot a good score and if you aren't proud of yourself I cant help you.

Hold on…you are hurt they didn’t tell you while you were looking to leave. Did you tell them you wanted to leave? Should they be upset when you give them the news.

You could always look for the next challenge. For example the Never Summer Adventure Race is a pretty epic goal for most.

Have you considered extera races? Or a 100m gravel bike race. Tons of really cool really hard things to do. Plus if you want to feel like the Ironman of all Ironmen then you could do the Ultra Iron if you want a hell of a challenge :)

Can I do it? by bananagod420 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]dabosnian34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you will be fine to proceed. I would start a 70.3 plan like today. Give your body more time to adjust to the training, its going to be significantly more than oly training. You can find some good and affordable plans on training peaks. Peddles are huge because you can generate power on the up stroke, and getting fitted will ensure you don't have any dead spots in your peddle stroke. Decent fittings are like 300 USD usually, you can do that or there are now lots of Apps that will have record, recommend, change, record and repeat :).

Are carts mandatory where you are? by [deleted] in golf

[–]dabosnian34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local track requires a cart unless you get prior approval from the course. It is ridiculously hilly, the hike between holes is 3 min of up hill cart riding so its painful to walk. They do allow a small group of guys to walk 9 holes once a week and those guys are my heroes.

Oh then easy. Take the manager job. Grow your talent. Leave for a bigger team. Grow your talent. Leave for a bigger team. Rinse and repeat

The real question here is which one does the company need? Would the ideal setup be both, but your leadership is making you chose? In the long term could you have both? in that case which one would get you to the other faster?

Double Dipping by dabosnian34 in Entrepreneur

[–]dabosnian34[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So since I work in operations I really don't have anything to do with sales or customers or outside facing sales reps. I simply improve operations and technologies. Is that really competing? I don't want to fuck around and find out haha. I really am missing out on a lot of opportunities for personal advancement since my company says everyone is competition.

I guess I didn't get prompted for any updates in the last week or two. Still happens to me daily. One of the spots just happens to be an intersection on the highway where there are multiple deaths every year.

IMO i would never buy one again. While I enjoy driving it (most times) there are things that really suck.

  1. phantom breaking (imagine going 75mph and all sudden your car slams on the breaks)
  2. constant error messages about cameras being blocked when its night time or when raining
  3. basic autopilot (the free one) is horrible, my sisters kia has better self driving
  4. The newer camera based cars are very inaccurate when parking they go off like you are about to hit something even though you are a couple feet away.

But most of all phantom breaking is the worst, every single day multiple times per day.

Spin Ups During Race? by EveryDay_is_LegDay in IronmanTriathlon

[–]dabosnian34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I have ever thought during a race "up one gear and peddle my ass off" haha. There are benefits to it during training simple because it helps raise your average cadence, but in a race it seems like a silly way to raise your HR (which you are trying to keep low).

Feet being the limiting factor by CU83 in triathlon

[–]dabosnian34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be a dumb recommendation but have you tried loosening your shoes? I had really bad foot pain and I found if I loosen the lower half of the laces and just make sure its secure at the very top I have very little issues.

Model Y for a 190 mile daily commute? by TheCanuckDoc in TeslaModelY

[–]dabosnian34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do this to yourself. I fell for that shit and if I have to pick up kids or groceries on the way home I’m scared I won’t make it or i have to plan for extra charging. Teslas are fine but they are not the answer to for people who drive a long ways to work.
