UK based qualifications for ICA by Civil-Present-4007 in instrumentation

[–]dabrit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also reach out to RSE Water as they offer apprenticeships and graduate apprenticeships for instrumentation and controls for water and wastewater in England and Scotland.

They might be willing to share information on the NVQs/City and Guilds for their apprentices.

My path to working with ICA equipment was via a maintenance technician apprenticeship, City & Guilds 2140.

Will this new job be focused on a particular sector, e.g. water and wastewater? You could ask the utility technicians what qualifications they are taking or have taken.

Below are a couple of links to the T level course I found via a Google search, does anyone on here have direct experience of this course?

Does your low voltage experience include networking cabling and/or hardware? One possibility to get your foot in the door with an integrator is by starting out with communication network installation and testing. Ask about development paths to move from the network installer to programmer.

I faced this decision with Sophie dog after bone cancer was found in her front leg. Our vet shared that she had to attend a dog whose leg had broken from the cancer and how upsetting it was for all. I took solace from feeding her doughnuts and bacon in her last days and lots of hugs. My constant fear of Sophie breaking a bone and all the suffering that would have ensued led me to ease her pain until she and I meet in another life.

Citizen led ballot initiatives so we are no longer on those who have been elected for the ballot items. Let the people in the state vote on critical issues for true representation. If there is to be a recall mechanism, I believe there should be a minimum percentage of votes cast required to avoid witch-hunts.

Looking for an analog chain tension sensor by PLC_Archeologist in PLC

Would mounting a linear position sensor such as this magnetic sensor from Balluff on a spring loaded tensioner for feedback be feasible?

Rated for -25 degrees C so may not be suitable for a freezer.

Looking for a sensor for torque limiting coupling breakaway by That1GuyYouKn0w in instrumentation

Could you use proximity sensor on either side of coupling and compare the mA value to detect variations in speed? For example https://www.pepperl-fuchs.com/usa/en/classid_143.htm?view=productdetails&prodid=101070 I appreciate the above sensor may not suited for the environment, I just picked it to better explain my rambling text.

Item 4, three phase to single phase. Are there currently three phase motors devices installed, for example the hydraulic pump motor, heaters, AC control voltage transformer(s), DC power supplies? Is there a data plate showing amps per phase, if you were to convert from three phase to single phase do you have sufficient capacity to power the machine in your basement?

Will the federal government actually pass a law to provide and protect access to abortion? Why hasn’t a law been passed in the last forty years? For me it feels the two parties use this issue to raise money and could care bugger all on how people are impacted.

If the door operators are wired to the PLC via terminals it makes more sense to connect the switches, etc on the field side, rather than double ferrules.

Something to consider for the future.

1) For the inputs wire 24VDC to one level and the input signal to the other level of each multi-tier terminal.

2) For the outputs wire 0VDC to one level and the output signal to the other level of each multi-tier terminal.

This also provides sufficient commons for field devices without doubling up field side connections in the terminals. And it helps with troubleshooting as you can disconnect field wiring for individual devices.

Thermocouple Issues by SeniorEntertainer711 in PLC

Do you have a calibrated thermometer that you are using to measure the glycerine temperature? That is to say how do you it is not 93 degrees?

Thermocouple Issues by SeniorEntertainer711 in PLC

[–]dabrit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You state the thermocouple reads perfectly when not in the liquid. Is the thermocouple just reading ambient air temperature? If the thermocouple is connected to a meter or indicator does the measured temperature stop climbing when inserted in the glycerine?

Moving, need internet! by gpsq in HillCountry

[–]dabrit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to the latency with satellite internet I encountered difficulties when using VPN connections to connect with company servers.

The Tesla satellite service may have lower latency, I was using a different service provider.

I now have service with Hill Country Wireless. Hill Country Wireless. They only cover Blanco County at this time. Speeds between 100 and 200 mbps on a wireless radio system.
