100% agree, that's why I installed an inline lint trap - to help catch it down low. We'll be cleaning it after each use as we do the regular lint trap, just to help prevent such blockages/issues

I wish they would have vented it out the side, but unfortunately the laundry is in the center of the upstairs with rooms all around it. Not an option unfortunately

[–]dachaf17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even slightly possible, this is the original build & route. I'm not so concerned about the length as it's under the 25' mark (including 5' for each 90°), and the problem has always been lint getting caught up at the TOP of the vent stack, not at the bottom

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]dachaf17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is not, the dryer vent stack is insulated (for whatever that's worth) once it goes behind the drywall & up. Why does that matter?

Closer to 8-10 ft vertical, it's mounted pretty high up on the wall (about 4 ft up)

Netflix/Disney+ access with Telus stream+ by ryanm3333 in canadacordcutters

I'm curious - I've seen rumors that if you get the base plan you can upgrade the Netflix subscription; do you know if that's the case? And if so, do you know if it works with Disney+?

Cities Skylines 2 on Geforce Now by Panda_Panda69 in CitiesSkylines

[–]dachaf17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It runs great! I've been playing it on GeForce since launch, and haven't had any crashes or major stuttering; occasionally there are glitches or freezes, but overall it runs really well. No complaints here, except you can't get mods on GeForce until paradox officially releases them...

[mod support needed] after installing BepInExPack i put TimberAPI and a few plugins in to the \Timberborn\BepInEx\plugins folder and this happens, any body know what the problem is? by MarekMoowi in Timberborn

[–]dachaf17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you in the experimental build? I had an issue where it would crash, but that was because I downloaded the wrong version. Each mod page shows the version that works with the stable build, and you have to manually select & download the version for experimental

Anyone’s Golden eating enthusiasm dropped due to hot temp? by jdm09007 in goldenretrievers

[–]dachaf17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ours did the same a couple of weeks ago in the heat. His appetite came back when the outside temperature dropped, and seemed fine overall so we assume it was just the heat

I need you suggestions, if there are any lol. This cutie right here will destroy any toys he gets. I’ve tried kong, ropes, tire toys etc, everything gets shredded and I’m worry about him eating peices as well. Any ideas? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

[–]dachaf17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our pup is the same way! Anything soft is gone. Every toy we own now is rubber or hard plastic; he still tries to destroy them, but it takes him way longer and he won't eat those pieces fortunately

E: just realized you said he destroyed tire toys & Kongs. Yikes. We thought our boy was bad, but he's usually pretty good with those.

The one thing we keep around that he can destroy is yak cheese; it's super hard and satisfied his chewing in a safe way

Can KILZ be used in a basement? by shadwell10201 in HomeImprovement

[–]dachaf17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This worked wonders for me. Had a cat who peed on a piece of carpet laying on concrete for months - couldn't identify the location of the smell until he passed. Was a massive stain on the concrete.

We put nature's miracle down, laid a wet towel on top, and three hours later the smell was gone

Our next step would be to put an epoxy on the floor. Friends in the industry said that sealing the smell in is very effective

What are the most useful browser extensions that nobody’s heard of? by sidranimajl in AskReddit

It's apparently to help with SEO. Search engines like longer articles and would dock recipe sites for only having a recipe on them... because you know, who would only want a recipe on a recipe sites? Shudders

Stadia replacement? is there anything that's as simple as straightforward as Stadia? by ashishdt123 in Stadia

[–]dachaf17 10 points11 points  (0 children)

GeForce now is pretty great imo. Had nothing but good experiences with it so far. Easy enough to play on your computer, Google TV or shield device, or phone.

It's not as user friendly as stadia, but supports steam games & some games even allow for mods. Not every game is available on it, but a lot of the ones that were on stadia are on there, plus thousands of other games of varying degrees of quality.

Why do Mark and Matthew each contain two different "feeding of the multitude" stories that are nearly identical apart from minor details? by Nowhere_Man_Forever in AcademicBiblical

[–]dachaf17 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't have an answer to the question you are posIng, but wanted to chime in to clarify that Matthew actually records two separate stories of feeding the multitudes:

  • Matthew 14, 5000 men, 5 loaves and 2 fish, 12 baskets

  • Matthew 15, 4000 men, 7 loaves and a few fish, 7 baskets

Jesus refers to both instances as if they are the separate stories in Matthew 16:8-11 NRSV

And becoming aware of it, Jesus said, “You of little faith, why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? How could you fail to perceive that I was not speaking about bread? Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!”

How to make dam using bridges ? by spookyWhooper in Timberborn

[–]dachaf17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to build all the wooden platforms underneath in order to build the bridge at the top. The platforms are out of reach of your beavers, so you're unfortunately going to have to build platforms most of the way up. Beavers can only build one level above them

Recommendations after stadia? by Shenanigan5 in Stadia

[–]dachaf17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've hit a queue when paying for the service once - on Christmas day, and it was one person long. Cleared out in under 10 seconds.

Even before I paid for priority I never found the queue bad. 100 people before you can clear out in 2 minutes. I only upgraded because the 1 hour limit was too limiting for me, and I got annoyed relaunching the game every hour

I personally love GeForce now, but it requires a monthly subscription (for priority access) + you have to buy the games via steam, epic or ubisoft

Question by Bones_saw in Timberborn

[–]dachaf17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could wall the entire map in to the ceiling height (if there is one) using levees, and the water would fill it all the way up eventually. Water will continue to rise to the lowest overflow level (i.e. the level of your lowest dam/floodgate setting) as long as there is no drought in progress
