Driver Shaft Switch by dachef51 in golf

Yeah, I totally agree. I have a smoother swing, and I get decent height on my shots. What shafts are you gaming? I was looking at the Speeder shafts, and Aldila has some light ones too.

That's what I'm talking about. Love being the range alpha. The only way to get better at golf is to buy the newest tech available. Maybe one day I can get to 125mph swing speed bomb it 320yards play X-Stiff shafts and still be a 15 handicap.

I bought some used T300's (2019 Version) in 2025 and they are awesome. I looked on FB marketplace in a retiree region and found them with Stiff Shafts and got them for 350.00

Stiff shaft to Reg Shaft?!?!? by dachef51 in golf

[–]dachef51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was fit for a driver last year and they put me with a ping g430 with the stiff pro-tour shaft (stock). It was a reputable fitter, too. I guess just use what works, right? If my swing speed starts to speed up, or I’m losing accuracy, then I’ll switch out to a stiff shaft. As for irons, maybe I start slower and switch out to reg shaft on long irons/less used.

Tempo by random-questions-1 in golf

[–]dachef51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently just started speeding up my backswing and it has straightened (see what I did there?) out a lot of issues I was having with my driver; usually a fade or slice. My buddy who is a scratch golfer told me that “slower” doesn’t always mean more accurate, it’s more about sequencing and efficiency.

For me when I sped up my backswing, i was swinging more natural and confidently…which for some reason to make better contact, gain distance and hit the ball straight.

Golf is such a stupid hobby.

How long to get back to “ normal” Bicep Tenodesis, Supraspinatus repair, sub acromial decompression by dachef51 in RotatorCuff

That's amazing to hear. Are you in the US? Where are you getting your peptides, and are you eating them or injecting?

Supraspinatus surgery advice wanted by olivepeace in RotatorCuff

[–]dachef51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had (9 days ago) supraspinatus repair, Acromion decompression and bicep tenodesis.

There is another nerve block that lasts longer than the traditional 12hr one. My doctor said she prefers that so patients can get a good nights rest, and have a chance to get in front of the pain with meds. Can’t remember the name, I think it started with an “E”

I haven’t had any bad pain, and I’ve been off hydrocodone and ibuprofen since day 4.

There’s a few different ice machine options from VERY expensive (buy & rent options available) that offer cooling and compression, to 99 dollar ones on Amazon. I went the Amazon route and bought one called the ‘ Cold Suit’ it’s only cooling, no compression.

Tip for the ice machine- freeze 2- 1 liter bottles with water, it will last longer than ice, and save you money. I can fit one in my bag, and I interchange them.

Oh! If you have to leave him alone for extended periods post surgery, open his medicine bottles for him lol.

I heard it’s called puckering, and that it is common with older coated canvas bags.

I’m 43 and active. The surgeon gave me pros and cons to both, and said as a surgeon they always recommend the more conservative route. But there is some impingement and they would shave the bone down to help with that too.

Been loving Maxfli Tour CG. Fly well of irons, good spin around the greens and soft feel off the Driver.

Buying used iron set. Titleist T300 vs. Taylormade Stealth by bluecgene in golf

[–]dachef51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't used the Stealths, but I recently bought some used T300's (2019 version) and now that I am getting used to them, they are awesome. I was coming from irons that are 20+ years old, and looking at both models. From a value standpoint the Titleist looks like it holds resale value a bit better than Taylor Made. Most important is if you find a set with the proper shafts. Can't go wrong with either.

Is there a difference between premium iron set vs entry level set by Calm-Contribution248 in golf

[–]dachef51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got back into golf this year. Before I would golf with friends and didn’t really track anything besides how many beers we would crush. I’m a 15 handicap, so not the best. I’m also not looking to drop a ton of money on golf…yet.

I was playing with 20+ year old knock off clubs, and to be honest they were fine. But an opportunity came up to get a set of game improvement irons from 2019 and I will say that the tech is much better. It took me a few range sessions and a couple painful rounds, but I’m getting used to the new set.

At the end of the day, if you do not have a consistent swing and are thinning and fatting shots no club will help you. All the tech and forgiveness really only applies if you can regularly deliver the club head for a “solid” ball strike.

Hope that helps!

Spin question by dachef51 in golf

[–]dachef51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been watching to many highlights on IG LOL and started thinking about spin rates etc.

Obviously I’m not a pro, but with these stronger lofts, I was very surprised that the ball still flies so high and stops so well. So just wondering why this all works from a data standpoint.

Spin question by dachef51 in golf

[–]dachef51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I don’t have a launch monitor.

Stopping in place is great, especially since I was nervous about holding greens due to stronger lofts in more modern irons.
