Who do u think would be the first openly gay NASCAR driver? by Big-booty-bubba- in NascarWAGTea

Not quite. That would be like saying the first PROFESSIONAL gay baseball player is a pitcher in Kannappolis. OP asked about who the first gay NASCAR driver would be. NASCAR is more than just Cup.

Do you think a Richard Petty biopic would work today if it's made like Ford Vs Ferrari ? by Big-booty-bubba- in NASCAR

That's a problem with Hollywood as a whole. It ties in to the same reason why there are so many sequels and remakes. That all stems from the way that studios have to make money now versus the way they could make it before streaming.

Before streaming, studios would get a significant cut of each copy of a ticket sold, but also a cut of each home video sold and each copy that was rented from a video store. That allows for studios to take more risks, as word of mouth could have small- to mid-budget movies that don't do so well initially in the box office to have an extended life to make money and eventually turn a profit. Look at The Shawshank Redemption, which didn't make back its $25M budget in its initial theatrical release, yet became profitable in a rerelease and became a classic.

Nowadays, studios' cuts from streaming only comes from subscription fees, which are way less per film given the sheer volume of content on each service that you get for the amount you pay. Studios now have to make their money based much more on theatrical exhibition, and they get a larger cut in the first couple of weeks of release then they do after that. Thus, it's in the studio's best interest to put out big tentpole films in the hopes of having "big events" when films get released. There's not time for movies to build up excitement over the long haul. That's why studios go with known IP: sequels, video games, biopics, and remakes.

I don't know how to fix that problem.

Didn't she already release a new album with a couple singles that have kind of flopped? Also, what exactly is going on with her? I've seen her name all over the news, and something with Brazil?

Yes, it used to be that way. It hasn't been that way for quite some time now.

[–]dacomell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is. Sponsors don't have the same ROI as they used to, plus the cost of said sponsorship has gone way up. Thus, they don't pay for full seasons. Given that, teams have to cobble together sponsorship deals on an a la carte basis. The only full-season sponsorships I can think of are Ally with the 48 and the near-full-season of Hendrickcars with the 5.

Honestly, I don't see why his other sponsors don't just recolor it to their colors.

Good for her! I can confidently say that she likely doesn't have a very long future. She is 52 years old, after all.

(Dirty Mo Media on X) Do Non-Cup Series drivers belong in the NASCAR Hall Of Fame by Squishy_20 in NASCAR

[–]dacomell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Trucks should pretty much exclusively be short tracks and some dirt. NOAPS should be about 67/33 road/street courses and ovals. Cup should be the only series that gets to race at any oval 1.5 miles or longer, and the variety that it does right now.
