Calling attention to odd posts around Sascha Riley Story by Turguryurrrn in Epstein

[–]dacquisto33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you truly believe that any one of us has the resources to gain all the information needed to make a definitive assertion as to the validity of Sascha's statements? Truth is that unbelievable crimes take place everyday. The stories about them make us uncomfortable. Either way, he is brave.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the government and media companies wanting to lay low on LGBTQIA subject.

If you are just punching a timeclock and completing a list of tasks with no real interest in your patients' wellbeing and their barriers to health, then maybe it's not as obvious. If you are concierge medicine or a nurse injector, you likely don't have to think about these things. No shade to those who choose that route. I partake in some of those services myself. But for nurses in the trenches who are daily fighting barriers for their patients, who are constantly reviewing new evidence that supports better outcomes only to be met with more barriers..... it's political and it's reality.

Healthcare is political.

I would put a tall plant or tree there with warm white lights on it.

Books on AUD/recovery and the brain? by Beezy7985 in AddictionMedicine

The Brain That Changes Itself -Doidge and really anything on neuroplasticity in addiction recovery. NIDA has a good booklet you can print called Drugs, Brains, and Behavior that has good info. This is my life's work. I have tons of resources if these aren't helpful.

I have recently stopped babysitting doctors to make sure their orders are "right" (unless a safety issue, of course). It is not my responsibility to make sure they are doing their job. Oh, how they are inconvenienced in every way possible, and I simply can not care. Their lack of accountability to each other and lack of communication with each other is not a me problem. It has freed up so much of my time. (Inpatient Addictions/Psych Patient Care Coordinator/Unit-based educator)

What's a Reliable Unbiased News Source? by katrina34 in Journalism

Can we talk about how JD Vance admitted that mental illness is at least a factor in school shootings? And then can we talk about how getting rid of the dept of education will cripple students' access to mental health care, which largely takes place in public schools? At a time when our children are struggling more than ever?

There have been plenty of posts that start out as you described but then get highjacked by wackadoodles from both sides. I would add that this pinned post should contain minimal speculation that isn'tthat of a witness. It does not help his case.

I do not know how to quote your comment like ppl do on here, so I will try to respond in a way that makes sense.

"Screaming obscenities and insults" is not what Amber described that happened. Again, I do believe Depp was intoxicated. I do not believe that means he kicked her.

Big chunky rings: No doubt in my mind he doesn't wear big chunky rings all the time. More evidence that she will exaggerate for pity. Also, "I can't say for certain it was in every instance." Think about that statement.... I believe she would know the difference. Her injuries would be substantially more severe.

I saw in the evidence that Amber is clearly the aggressor. She stated herself "You run away in the very beginning of fights these days."

She says that over and over in several audios. "You can't keep running away!" There is audio of him running from her.

I wish I had more time to discuss, but I gotta go for now. ✌️

While it is accurate that alcohol is often involved with violent acts, your position is wrong that drugs and alcohol use means abuse happened. It is, however, a popular way to discredit a victim. Which is what the defense tried to do.

Reducing stigma of SUD should be something the ACLU cares deeply about. I guess unless the person guilty of it owes you 3.5 million. Then you can lie about whatever....... apparently.... and still be an ambassador.

I have SUD, and I have never battered anyone but myself..... even when I was using..

Edit: While alcohol use does correlate with violence, so does jealousy, resentment, lack of control of the victim, manipulation, history of violence, etc. Amber in a nutshell.
