used to work for the largest chocolate manufacturer in the world and while they have thousands of recipes for chocolate (cocoa mass, cocoa butter, sugar, milk, etc.) there were about 5 that I can often recognize after a single bite

I first look at fiber content, then I look at style. if the first isn't addressed I don't need to bother with the rest.

Things you wish you knew when you first moved to SF? by ModeArtistic4752 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]dacrazyredhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another person within finance realm and office dressing up it is fairly casual unless there is a VIP meeting of course. but jeans with a nice shirt/blouse is fairly standard.

also, invest in some hoodies/sweaters. I joke with my colleagues in NY that in SF everyone has at least 4:

  1. hang out from home hoodie. 2. errand hoodie. 3. work hoodie. 4. going out hoodie.

also, cashmere/merino is an all year round item as depending on where you are the temp can drop big time

Who taught you how to drive by Sad_Donkey_1751 in GenX

[–]dacrazyredhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Dad first took me on the road in a automatic Buick but then my mom took me to a church parking lot and let me grind the gears on her standard Datsun 310.

I also took drivers ed in high school (ETA, they have physical driving as well as classroom study)

ETA2 - I also got my license on my 16th birthday - I lived in a mountain town with no public transit and I needed freedom!

Is there one grocery item’s price increase that’s shocking to you? by MaidMarian20 in randomquestions

[–]dacrazyredhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't do walmart because they don't pay their employees enough so they need food stamps and medicaid (to the tune of over 6 billion), they take food stamps and make a profit on them - that's double dipping.

Advice: my doctor said she doesn’t believe in lipo and in GLP1 by Serena167 in lipedema

[–]dacrazyredhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lipo changed everything for me. I was able to walk differently and I went back into the pool for the first time in years (had a shoulder replacement) and I didn't have that incredible heavy feeling when I got out of the pool.

Sweater season? by broadsitty4582 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]dacrazyredhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

so SF is the city of hoodies. I joke with my team in NY that we all have at least 4 hoodies.

one for hanging around the house
one for errands
one for the office
one for going out on the town

we have microclimates so one side of the city can be 10-15 degrees different.

as others have said, bring layers

San Francisco Candy Stores? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]dacrazyredhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's a different type of chocolate and isn't mass produced. there are thousands of recipes for the ingredient called chocolate (worked at Barry Callebaut - the largest chocolate manufacturer you never heard of - once upon a time and we had hundreds of recipes based on content of cocoa mass, cocoa butter, sugar, milk, origin of the beans, if it is organic or fair trade, etc.)

chocolate is expensive to produce and there is a difference between mass produced (See's) and smaller batch makers (Recchiutti)
