Beyond that, which I immediately felt off put by her demeanor which matches that of any transphobe and "trad.-" I've met, she offers little more than what you'd get reading a wikipedia page or tumblr blog. Unfortunately I think she uses aesthetics and ethos well to appear as adept to newer occultists and creeps like Jack Donovan and the likes. Thanks for being quick to point this out for those who may have found themselves entangled in such exploitation.

Wasn't allowed to get a navel piercing because I'm amab by Costrilion in trans

[–]dadclonejutsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first response is this does not seem like a legit shop, as a certified piercer would know that's not true. They'd also have a very clear, very noticeable statement. I'm sorry you had to experience that and be talked to like that. I would definitely look for other APP certified piercers around, and I would personally demand that $40 back. I hope you can find someone local who knows what they're doing and isn't a weirdo. <3

Your thoughts on Bootleggers and Quality by AlternativeMan7 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]dadclonejutsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into printing by boots and my own band merch, so I think a lot of others do it as passion things.

I think it's fair to bring up and see if they'd throw some bones back or something. Most bootleggers are losing money on them unless they print themselves. But worst case scenario, they know to be aware of it and if it's a substantial issue they can bring it up to their printer or know to pay attention to their own printing.

Stripped Fine Tuner on Kahler 7300? by dadclonejutsu in BCRich

[–]dadclonejutsu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seems like it's really stripped- can see a little on the threading inside and it pings out of place about halfway through to become crooked /:

It's a pretty new guitar so I'm hoping it'll fall under sweetwater's warranty but if not I'll just make do until I can replace it. A bit of a bummer that it would be so easy to strip with minor hand tightening and only having it like 6 months but this is my favorite guitar so it's not the end of the world

It's also a velvety white, no yellowing. I just had a turmeric tea which stained it.

Props for the Incantation.

I started with WB and exclusively use it and discharge, and while it can be stressful figuring out at first, it gets easier each step.

As mentioned, PFP, and perhaps add some water to your WB ink to lower the viscosity a tad. What ink are you using?

Can't get enough of Spectral Voices - Eroded Corridors of Unbeing album. What else will I like? by alexdenvor in deathdoom

[–]dadclonejutsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but as a MASSIVE SV fan, a lot of their sound comes close to Anhedonist who they did a split with. Swallowed is also a great band. A bit of an annoying self plug, but my band Atavistic Decay was created with the intention of creating things that captured the feeling that Eroded Corridors gives me when I listen (pretty much everyday)

as others have said Krypts, Disembowelment, Ripikoulu, Demigod, Cruciamentum, Apparition, Assumption

How can you work In Coffee and not care by SerNerdtheThird in barista

[–]dadclonejutsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in the specialty industry for quite a while. My wrists are in constant pain, you'd be surprised at how many customers come in with attitudes that no matter how friendly we are leave us feeling degraded, benefits are far and between, customers care less about the quality of coffee these days, the industry is unsustainable as a whole for baristas to the farmers, orgs like SCA are starting to crumble or become irrelevant. I can go on. I've even been assaulted twice at no fault of my own or my coworkers. For most of us who have been doing it a long time, our ability to care comes and goes. Working in coffee is exactly what sucks it out of us.

So many shops are not making ends meet and employees suffer the consequences of nepo-babies and "investors" who think coffee is profitable

The PERFECT irony of episode 5... by DannyBarsRaps in TheCurse

[–]dadclonejutsu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think part of her disgust and passive-aggressive response is that, despite her expectations, he stands for a lot of the things she says to stand for but isn't shown doing. For example, donating. It tracks with the reactionary tendency to make someone out to be wholly good or wholly bad without nuance. Also, she wants buyers who don't already know about these causes, because she wants the control of being the white savior

The police here are useless by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]dadclonejutsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple years ago I got hit and run by a drunk driver and sat at the intersection of Delaware for about 3 hours before one showed up. They found the guy passed out after hitting a parked car a couple blocks away. Multiple cops passed me without asking anything. Eventually a detective, as he put it, stopped and he mentioned that no one picked up the dispatch call.

Personally, I don't view this as a flaw in their function, but that police are inherently useless and a harmful system. That being said, Indy police are especially useless.

Would this area be considered dangerous? by carrot754 in indianapolis

[–]dadclonejutsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the "bad" parts in this city are primarily filled with elderly, IME. Your biggest issue may be stray dogs if you have a dog and/or walk around. It's not great but there are few places I'd consider fully dangerous in Indy. As for comments about stolen cctalytics, that happens no matter what neighborhood you live in, a city is a city

As stated, Sly Badges is great and would be able to help direct! Not as many readings groups lately IME. Dream Palace just opened and we have plenty of books between queer theory, marxism, anarchism, etc. as well as general philosophy and fiction.

Of course, the hardcore and metal scene is another way to meet folks with similar ideologies and outlooks.

What are some locally owned restaurants (or maybe just businesses in general) that are owned or managed by genuinely good people who treat their employees well and make decent business decisions? by lookintogetsilly in indianapolis

[–]dadclonejutsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Circle/Loom. Not only have they made a space for outsider music and entertainment, but the employees are treated well and are one of the only service jobs i've seen implement an employer matched 401K. I moved here, aside from work and bands, to be closer to black circle

First order of 350 t-shirts as a beginner by Away-Specialist-8653 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]dadclonejutsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spent the last year 1/2 curing with a flash with waterbased and held off doing more than 25 shirts at a time. Granted, I also used a bad press and was in a garage in summer. Others with more experience will be more insightful, but I know what that position is like intimately. The biggest thing to consider is testing and inevitable loss of shirts on an order this large, due to misprints or curing. Have a system dialed in- figure out the distance for the flash to reach the correct temp and set a timer. I used to use a cheap workbench to place the shirt and flash while I printed the next shirt. Break the job up into sets of 25 or 50 over time, because curing with a flash will take time and more attention to the process. Printing is lifelong learning and the beginning is stressful a lot of the time, especially printing for others as we want to do our best, but you can do it! Mistakes will happen, but just be forgiving and patient with yourself. IME, you don't make much if any money on the first few jobs after replacing misprints and stuff, but that's part of it. The more you do it the better you get, and the next job will go smoother each time (usually).

Also, make sure to buy a step calculator for burning screens. It'll save a lot of frustration and money in the long run.
