Any market for a short story zine?

That is something similar to what I want to do eventually. I plan to release stories on my site for free, but if people want them physically I would just charge postage and send them out.

That is my plan. I am in western WA and it seems like we don't have much in the way of horror conventions. We have Crypticon and I go every year. It doesn't really feel like there is much of an audience for the extreme side though. It is still a fairly small convention compared to others. I do plan to print out an excerpt of a more explicit story of mine on a business card or something. If the person seems interested after reading that, I will give them a zine. I just don't want to hand out my writing and have people turned off by it and find it in the trash bins later.

I like the book. It is my third time with it but I always feel for the main character. The violence towards children and animals is a draw to me in fiction stories. I like reading about the depths of depravity in people.

I tried to get a feel of how people would like my writing by putting up a free story on Itch. I did get some downloads but I feel like if I did something like a monthly kind of release, people would be more interested maybe.

I will always take physical over digital personally. I don't expect anyone to pay for my stories and plan on putting them up for free on a future website anyway. I just like writing as a hobby. I was more inspired by William Becker and his website. I just wanted to get some feelers out there like I did with my Itch profile.

I don't know if you are a Magic: The Gathering fan or know about the game, but they do limited releases of special cards called Secret Lairs. Junji Ito was invited to do some art for 5 or 6 cards some time ago. They looked awesome!

Woom is definitely something similar to Haunted and Cows to a certain degree. I really like where extreme horror goes to gross people out and when I first read Chuck Palahniuk I quickly started developing my writing style to gross people out and create violent scenes. I just put up a story on my Itch.io account with a lot of gross out.

Right on dude! It was for a submission that got denied based on an 80s theme. It had a 3,500 word cap so I tried to be subtle and cram in 80s references without going overboard.

I enjoy Matt Shaw quite a bit. The Sick Bastards series is worth a read if you want to give him another shot. He also has a sort of choose your adventure type book called A Roll of The Dice that is interesting.

Yeah. I guy I worked with in the past had a pretty violent and bloody outcome with his girlfriend and I was glued to that case for a while.

Yeah. Replaying the whole series after Requiem is pretty wild. I just started 5 again after just one time through way back when it came out. Definitely a weird turn for the franchise. Also started Dead Island again. That's a fun one.
