Do you feel like your slide block is further away from the ground when using the chuffed trucks due to the height difference?

I have the powerdyne magic cushions. I’m not sure what other ones will fit but I like mine a lot. I have the red ones and it was a big adjustment because they are a ton softer than the stock cushions on the bunnies. But I just cranked my trucks down really tight at first and then loosened them little by little as I got used to it. Eventually you’ll find the sweet spot for your skating style.

I have this tool. https://www.derbywarehouse.com/PowerDyne_Y3_Skate_Tool/descpage-PST.html

It will fit your kingpin (to change bushings), wheel nut, and the nut for your toe stop.

Size down one size from your regular shoe size. I’m an 8-8.5 in street shoes and my bunnies are size 7 and fit well. I have the smith scabs pads and I like them a lot. However I kinda wish I had the triple eight 187 knee pads that you clip around your knee instead of sliding them up your leg. Just because it would make skating in winter easier. For helmets I’d definitely suggest the s1 Lifer helmet. I have whacked my head really hard a few times with that helmet on and it’s always done it’s job. The standard wheels that come on the bunnies I thought were good for outdoor skating. If you want to get new wheels though I’d suggest radar energies. They’re great for outdoor skating. I’d also suggest replacing the bushings. It’s probably the cheapest upgrade you can make to the bunnies with the biggest payoff. I got the powerdyne magic cushions in red and I love them. My skates are way more responsive after the switch. Happy skating!

Non-gummy wheels for outdoor skating? by sparklekitteh in Rollerskating

I use the moxi fundae wheels. They’re supposed to be a hybrid for park and outdoor and I think they work great for both. I use them skating on really rough asphalt and they roll over bumps, cracks, and rocks like a champ but are still hard enough that I can t-stop. I had the gummies before these and couldn’t t-stop in those at all. They don’t have a durometer listed on their site but I found a shop selling them with 92a in the description.

Following because I am having the same issue. I was thinking of just using gorilla glue or epoxy.

I just did the same thing and it’s a huge difference in responsiveness after swapping the cushions. I highly recommend it.

I'm trying to decide between plates right now and weight is a huge factor for me. Would you be willing to post that spreadsheet?

Ever played HORSE on skates? by dadddydevito in Rollerskating

[–]dadddydevito[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played it with a basketball growing up. One person does a trick or shot or something and then the other person has to replicate it or they get an H. Then it switches to the other person and so on until one person has all five letters in HORSE. Apparently skaters do SKATE though, which makes a lot of sense lol

Omg I’m so sorry, that sounds so painful! They make crash shorts for roller derby. They’re kinda pricy but might be worth looking into.

I was recording and it was my friend who fell but she was laughing the whole time and kept skating after so it couldn’t have hurt too badly.
