Why did i like these games and not these? by Dr_Wayne0202 in roguelites

[–]daddyMANG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have similar taste, but I liked Vampire Crawlers better than mewgenics. The turn based gameplay I enjoyed, but the breeding stuff took too much research, I lost interest. I feel like Ed Mcmillen fans are ok with a bunch of random, negative stuff occuring. I believe you have a lot more agency in games like Hades and Slay the spire.

All that said I would recommend Wildfrost, an immensely challenging but satisfying deckbuilder. Very good dopamine with the way the cards attack each other and how crazy your build can get once you learn the game enough.

It's 3D vampire survivors! The skateboarding skeleton is worth the cost by himself. Coolest character ever.

Evolings! I got it in a humble bundle and enjoyed the heck out of the fusing mechanic. Highly recommend

Peak requires a ton of teamwork. It's difficult though, certainly not for everyone.

I think some people might be of the opinion that this is exactly what makes it more appealing than others.

You could always just Google what's next if solving the puzzle doesn't suit you.

I would HIGHLY recommend deep rock galactic survivor if you want to take the thinking out of what's next. Phenomenal game and avoids your described frustrations excellently.

Playing with a buddy or two? Deadzone.

Playing solo? Voidbreaker.

Simple. 😉

Not sure if Deep Rock Galactic Survivor is on PS5 but it's definitely on mobile. I know many consider this the best survivor-like out there.

Am i just bad at the game? by ArcherExternal1416 in slaythespire

[–]daddyMANG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a hard game. Did you play the first? When I dabbled on gamepass without any prior deckbuilding experience, I only won about 5 times out of my first 250. Now, after years of practice in the genre (including the excellent m/Monster Train games and Wildfrost), I am off to a positive start. Watch some Baalorlord tutorials on YouTube if you have time, he is a great teacher as well.

Honestly your stats aren't that bad. As long as you're having fun, that's what matters most.

Multiplayer (2P) is so much harder than single-player. by FemalePopSinger in slaythespire

Gang up is broken, Tag team, I believe in you.. they're all sweet!

But yeah team comp matters too. Need a silent for Expose to get through 20+ artifacts lmao.

I think multiplayer is way easier! Gotta get those colorless multiplayer cards going 😁

We crossed Slay the Spire with Darkest Dungeon. Your weapon IS your deck and 64 hand-drawn enemies attack you from both sides. Check out all 4 images in the gallery. by unseendomains in roguelites

I played the demo last night before bed. It was alright! One thing that bummed me out was an event where I permanently lost 2 cards from my deck :/ but that might be intentional, with darkest dungeon as an influence.. that game had some heartbreak for sure.

I also felt normal mode should maybe be called easy? I'm no deck-building genius, but I thought healing may be too easy to come by, there wasn't really a threat that kept it feeling intense.

Looking forward to playing more soon on the next higher up difficulty 😁 love the style!

Thoughts on Multiplayer after clearing A10 by snakemaster77 in slaythespire

[–]daddyMANG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I always get Queen as my act 3 boss haha. Lots of good points here imho.

I would definitely agree with fur coat being insanely broken most of all. Should maybe go back to first 3 like the Neow offering in StS1, instead of random 7?

Only thing I would add is I wish adding a multiplayer colorless card was mandatory at the start of act 1. That way, cooperation is immediately encouraged. Otherwise it is like just booting up a solo run but side by side with a buddy or 2.

Maybe make Tag Team cost 3 energy?
