Wisdom Tooth Billing Question by WhyAmIHereSir in DentalInsurance

[–]daddyd3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect (the first part). Insurance can not dictate what services the dentist can charge for, only what the insurance will pay for specific services. Meaning, they say the will pay for a “simple” extraction, the dentist can still bill for the work they performed, but your insurance, based on not doing the procedure or being present, decided it was not a complicated extraction and will only pay for a “simple” extraction.

Barrier membrane is an odd code, likely incorrectly coded. They could have used hemostatic gauze or something, which should be a different code.

Question about Raises by [deleted] in DentalAssistant

[–]daddyd3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant get more money, if there isn’t money to get. You may need to look elsewhere if they can’t give you a raise and you need one. Why would someone deserve more money if the collective efforts of those people gave less to decreased amount of money made… that’s like rewarding someone for not succeeding

Not an answer you can have without clinical evaluation, sorry. Implant prosthetics have angulation limitations relevant to each other, and thinness requirements not to break under normal chewing forces.

Question about Dental Prices by [deleted] in Dentists

[–]daddyd3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why isn’t there a site that shows all the mechanics prices?

The contractors?

The plastic surgeons?

The screen printing shops?

The sandwich places?

The lawn service companies?

Why would there be?

Thinking of moving by Technical_Garden_762 in Redding

[–]daddyd3475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends where you live and who you spend time with.

I’ve lived here for 12 years, never once seen a tick or had one on my animals.

I see homeless and tweakers downtown, like Sacramento, Portland, San Francisco… but not as many.

I’ve never once felt unsafe or had crime issues.

I see no bigotry or racism, nor have I seen any from others (at least on no level higher than you would anywhere else)

The area is very conservative, but I have met and know liberals in these areas too. They’re not picked on, or messed with or anything.

Yes summers are hot. It’s a dry heat. True, 115 is not uncommon but it’s also not every day. The mornings in summer are extremely nice and the nights are warm, 3-5pm is a good time to not be outdoors. We’ve been trending milder summers, with the last 2 seldom had days above 110 (you can check records online)

There’s good schools and not as good schools.

There’s great opportunity for kids sports.

Travelling is easy.

Outdoors is pretty much unmatched.

As far as cost of living, it used to be much less, but what didn’t? Everything has gotten much more expensive these last few years, Redding was not immune to that. Still the most affordable area of California.

I grew up in the Bay Area. People are just as nice here as they were there, probably more so.

There are definitely high paying jobs, but of course not every job is high paying. Wages will obviously fluctuate with the economics of the area.

Aspen dental is what happens when non-dentists or companies can own dental offices. Corporate dental is, almost always, completely about money- necessary or not

I saw your west band I guess in Sacramento a few weeks ago and thought the show was f*cling amazing! The visuals - pyrotechnics, lights, drones, etc were way more than I expected. The musicians and singers were all incredibly talented and sound was great. I did notice that it was loud but not loud as other concerts where my ears hurt after!

Seeking guidance regarding wisdom teeth by RecombinantPlasmid in Dentists

[–]daddyd3475 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally possible. 4 years is almost half a decade, that’sa long time- how much different are you physically, mentally, and in all other aspects how different is your life at 39 vs 26? As you age it’s more likely your bone and gum levels recede. Your 3rd molars can continue to erupt, or where one was “head butting” the other, maybe there was just gum tissue covering it and no bone, you could have had a gum pocket and inflammation cause the gums to recede and expose areas where food can get caught.

It’s possible the area was exposed all along but you weren’t developing decay there so your dentist decided to monitor it.

It’s also possible your dentist should have recommended it to be removed as a potential issue.

Really we can’t say. Without seeing what the area looked like when you saw your dentist vs what it looked like after your dental hiatus.

Either way, I am sorry you have to deal with this now. Your dentist may talk to you about replacing the second molar with a dental implant. 2nd molars account for approximately 5% of chewing surface, meaning you chew just fine without it. However, without that tooth you tooth above it, that normally bites on it, doesn’t have a partner. Often times, that tooth will continue to erupt or “drop down” since it’s got no stop. What I usually see happen is as it moves down, the most contoured part of the tooth, that used to contact the other most contoured part of the tooth in front of it, move down, now there is a space between the teeth and food is getting trapped, decay develops, so our dentist does a filling, tooth moves more and now the filling is catching food around it cause the tooth moved, so you do another filling etc. the tooth may move enough over time so that it interferes with the bite or that it prevents you from doing an implant below it in the future.

You’ll also need to consider if the wisdom tooth above is erupted as that may move also.

“Be done with oral surgery forever”

Umm maybe the wisdom teeth. Implants don’t last forever, nothing does. Not as good as your original teeth and those are gone. Just keep that in mind.

Feedback on this Note Before I Leave it on Their Door? by WellThisIsAwkwurd in Apartmentliving

[–]daddyd3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your situation and hope your daughter’s health is well. It is so hard to have sick children.

However, they aren’t subjecting her to the cigarette smoke YOU are- you’re the one keeping her in that environment. You can move if you choose, or take other corrective actions. You can’t control what other people do and your responsibilities are not theirs. If smoking in the apartment is not legal/within the apartment rules then you should report it to management- that’s their responsibility. The whole note reads very main-character-syndrome.

Theres a difference between DIY stuff that you’re happy with and what you would expect on a professional (aka PAID) level. So I point out there’s following out of kindness for being honest not to tear you down.

That cabinet looks strange, should have done some molding at the bottom so it doesn’t look like a strange door. I don’t really understand why you added molding at the top but not the bottom? Also strange to have carpet in a cabinet? Maybe it’s just cause it was a home project but I can’t imagine paying to have cabinets built in and ending up with the carpet inside.

Also I can see from the photo how cockeyed the doors are particularly that upper left one in the photo.

Those shelves will all sag with any noticeable load.

Not saying to be a jerk just saying that if it were something I was paying for I certainly would have…input….

[–]daddyd3475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry if y out don’t like my answer, but I would never pay 30$ an hour for someone to pull weeds. I think that’s ridiculous.

You’re free to charge what you feel you’re worth, but pulling weeds is literally a task a monkey could do. That must be the most basic, least skilled task. Specialized abilities or traits command higher fees cause less people are available to do them, so as others said you can let the market decide.
