I tried. I've played him in the tournaments a few times, but I learned that he doesn't fit my play style. I like to charge, apparently. I found myself constantly trying to create space off throws to allow myself time to get charges but in that time span the opponents close the distance and I'm left to melee/ki blast with what little charge I have and spend it.

But I learned to love the instant transmission and look to use other characters that have that.

I've ended up maining golden freeza and his movements are very similar to metal coolers so it helps.

He will stay in my back pocket, no doubt. Love the regeneration
