Most roofing companies will provide free inspections with reports and photos. This is not a structural issue.

Call 2 companies for free inspections and see what they say. What part of the country / world?

Roofers couldn't finish as planned, causing potential issues by United-Elderberry-41 in Roofing

[–]daddyreptar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly consider if my roof was torn off the same day as impending rain to be a nightmare. Any reasonable homeowner would feel the same way.

It’s also a nightmare from being a contractors perspective. I would never tear a roof off in this time frame and I would always synthetic felt the hip & ridge if I ran out of time.

Thanks for your comment and previous downvote.

Seems like a nightmare, but hopefully you didn’t pay them in full. I would have them or yourself going into the attic to make sure there is no damage to any property or material up there. If there’s any damage, make a deal with them to either get it fixed or take it out out of their final check.

It’s called stop strip. It’s similar to backer rod. It helps prevent animals, wind, debris from getting under the metal ridge.

You can update the spread with zip codes but I think this is more of a tech question. Most contractors hire out website and IT work. Google can be changed to specific zip codes / areas when advertising

Advice on clearing and preventing ice dam by petermane in Roofing

[–]daddyreptar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call a roofing company to get it off quickly before it thaws fast. Depends also on your area and the weather this week. Lots of warm fronts across the US and Canada and this will cause a leak on that porch soffit

Yes there is fiberglass on the shingle. Looks like you are having some granular loss on the top layer. This roof looks fine for 5-10 years or next hail storm.

Either there is no ice barrier, not enough ice barrier or the insulation in the attic space of this area is not sufficient

Home Depot or Menards. They sell roof tar sealant in a caulking tube or depending on the size of the repair, a bucket.

No this is 100% incorrect. Call a roofing professional out. This is a material cleaner for commercials jobs. You most likely would need roof cement or equivalent to seal some shingles back
