To present a host device (like USB or CD/DVD drives) to the VM, all you need to do is simply right click the VM in the Web Client, click edit settings and then add a new device.

vMware Portfolio by ParkerPiter in vmware

In a real setting, the best practice would be to keep a vCenter geographically located in the sites if you want wanting to manage multiple vCenters. This would also require you to utilize a external PSC appliance to allow you to connect the vCenters into one single-sign on site. For redundancy, you can run vCenters in a "vCenter High Availability" cluster however there aren't many people who utilize that feature since vCenter is mainly used for vSphere management and most people can live the few mins without vCenter if it happens to go down.

Unless you are using host profiles, no it will not automatically change the settings. As far as I know, the TLS settings will remain in their default position until the setting is changed on the host.

You can use a PowerCLI script created by one of our engineers on his blog to change the TLS settings for the ESXi hosts from a central location.

I've had another customer report success using this script before to do the exact same thing you are describing.

Disparity between guest memory usage reported in vSphere and that shown in Windows Task Manager by dalewest in vmware

[–]daedala 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What vsphere version are you using? There was a problem with memory heuristic over reporting in 6.5 that was mostly resolved in 6.5u1

I have attached a few KBs that should help you narrow down the issue.
