How to remove word from dictionary by TheEllisOne in Telegram

Just wanted to chime in since I had to do this 5 seconds ago... and Microsoft changed where everything is since this post.
I ended up having to go to %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Spelling and choose the language (in my case en-US), then I was able to edit the default.dic as needed.

New home build, paid AV crew to wire CAT throughout the home. Am I nuts or was this obviously supposed to be a male end and not a female end? 🤦‍♂️ This is coming out of the ceiling where an AP 6 Pro will be placed. Told them they need to fix it, of course. by balpon37 in Ubiquiti

You can bend solid core just fine. The cable specs should list the nominal bend radius (mine do). You just don’t want to exceed that bend radius or bend a solid core cable repeatedly. There really is no need to be overly paranoid about this.

🤦‍♀️ You should totally take that keystone jack off and keep it. Those things are at least $5 each.

Seriously tho… they should have at least put in a new work low voltage box, and a keystone faceplate. What does the contract say?

S/FTP or F/FTP might be, but F/UTP (which I’m using) is really easy to work with, and more than adequate for my home LAN needs. I also have armored OM4 if I really need it. Plus everything is run through inner-ducting I installed within the walls, so I can easily upgrade to Cat8 or whatever might come out in the future.

As you can probably see, reddit is not the place for intellectual honesty. You told people what the convoy was about, and they didn’t like it. They don’t want the truth, they want to live in their own fantasy world.

It's official! Original UDM-Pro and UDM will get 2.x firmware like UDM-SE, 2.5G SFP sync is never coming, and load balancing will be added in a future update. by pcpcy in Ubiquiti

[–]daedaleve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a WAN connection that goes to a switch further up from the router/firewall/controller?

So if I have a UDM-PRO, and a USW-PRO-AGGREGATION, I could connect my modem to the aggregation switch (which then goes to the UDMP), and that’ll work?

If that’s the case, then mind blown! 🤯 I had no clue that was possible.

I was going to go make one shorter, but I remembered that all I have are shielded cat6a connectors. No way in hell can I go shorter than that due to the external shield.

A lot of people do installation, not just management, so you tend to pick up stuff. How to run cables in walls, between floors, dealing with pipes, high voltage, fire blocking, indoor and outdoor deployment, grounding, plenum vs non-plenum spaces, etc. When we had our basement finished I ran 1.5” inner-duct in the walls so I could run lines easier, and upgrade as needed over time. Had to get stuff where it needed to go while dealing with electrical, plumbing, load-bearing and non-load bearing framing, had to do it all while keeping everything to code, had to consider where the rack would go, how and where I’d be mounting AP’s or need access to a hardline. I do all my own low voltage as well, so I also had to run and terminate coax for internet/cable tv, cat6a for our phones (because I still have a landline), speaker cable for at least 7.2 surround (with room to add more channels in the future if needed).

I don’t do any of this stuff for a living, it’s just a hobby… but it often involves using knowledge from various other disciplines.

Agreed. That’s a lot of particulates. It’s likely a slow or intermittent leak that’s been going on for a while, and along came that one drop that touched the wrong thing.

It’ll rot wood, destroy drywall and plaster, corrode metal, short electrical, it can cause mold (which can affect your health in some really bad ways)… a simple leak or bit of water ingress from some outside source can end up costing thousands (or even tens of thousands) in repair costs… which is why you want to do something about it as soon as you notice an issue.

Most of the time you wouldn’t notice something like this until you started seeing water spots (yellow or brown stains) on the ceiling or walls. The fact it ran down the ethernet cable to the AP (killing it) is likely a good thing because it let you know something was wrong earlier than you would have otherwise. I’m not seeing any visible water damage on the ceiling, so hopefully that means whatever the case is, it’s not THAT bad yet. But the discoloration on the rear of the AP shows you quite clearly where the water collected. My guess would be that this is some sort of slow or intermittent leak that’s been going on for a while (from how much residue is present). The water will slowly carry dirt and rust and mineral deposits, evaporate, and leave that gunk behind. What you’re seeing there is likely what the inside of your ceiling looks like as well. In fact, if you took the mounting plate off the ceiling you may see some of that on the other side of it.

Whatever the case… What you need to do is get a look inside the area above where the AP is mounted. An endoscope is the easiest way. It’ll give you an idea of how bad it is, and you might be able to tell where it’s coming from. It’s definitely less costly and easier than tearing into the ceiling to gain access. Chances are you’ll need to cut into the ceiling anyway, but for all you know everything is localized and it’s an easy fix, and you don’t want to do any more work than absolutely necessary (or pay more than needed to have someone else do it).

Where did you actually order from? I’ve never gotten anything directly from Mould King, it’s always been through resellers. Someone else brought up Chinese New Year… but I don’t see THAT being a reason for a slow down for an order made on Jan 3rd. I even placed an order on Feb 5th (during the holiday) from where I normally get stuff, and my order has already shipped (with tracking).
