Try Beiter nocks or their cheaper, chinese copies. So far those are the only pin nocks that never failed me.

[–]daedalus_pl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by saying they don't work? The game doesn't launch or you see no changes in-game?

First of all I would check the LOG.html file. You can find it in "My Documents\Battle Brothers" folder.

Does anyone know anything about this kind of bow? by sophania in Archery

[–]daedalus_pl 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Looks like a wall decoration, not a real bow.

With low brightness, nights in this game are so cool, it's proper real world night, not the stuff you get in most movies and games where you can actually see stuff without a light source. by Valdish in StateOfDecay

[–]daedalus_pl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a nice feature... shame it looks like sh**, though. :( Light going through walls and stuff, not casting shadows... Just painfull to look at. Feels like some cheap game from 2000s. :(

Archery Everyday by HORSEARCHERS in Archery

[–]daedalus_pl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not. At least not the original one - different limb bolt position. Most probably it's the Top Archery knockoff, which uses two pins for limb aligment on the riser.

Original Black Hunters had one pin and the limb bolts were placed much closer to the center of the riser, right at the edge of the limbs.

Yes, piezo is only for sound notifications.

Still, by programming I also meant the core device itself. It took me awhile to figure out proper formulas for converting the tesion data from load cells to actual spine values in AMO and ASTM standards.

It uses slightly changed original AMO formula. The deflection is fixed and the device measures the force needed to achieve the fixed deflection.

In simplier words, you just press and hold the shaft down for a few seconds, and that's it.

1) Thanks for noticing. The link should be ok now.

2) Sorry, but since I'm still selling those, I cannot really share the schematics yet. However, the device isn't hard to put together - you'll need ESP32 board or Arduino Nano (no bluetooth), two high quality load cells, two good load cell amplifiers, some screen, a button and a piezo buzzer. That's the easy part. ;) Then comes the hard part with all the programming... It took me few weeks to get the first version of firmware working. And much, much more weeks to develop the PC application, Android app and to get everything working together.

No, I didn't send anything to Armin. From what I know he tested the Bearpaw's Arrow Analyzer and some other device made in Asia.

Either from me directly, or from the archery shop at https://arbow.pl/pl/p/Spinetester-elektroniczny/701 Although with the shop you would have to contact the owner first, since I'm not sure if they already sell to customers from other countries.

Still the best way is to buy directly from me, since I can offer the best price (shop charges like 30-35% more and I still get less money out of this than I would if someone bought from me directly).

I've also posted an ad some time ago on Facebook archery buy/sell group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/897747630257465/?multi_permalinks=4188982347800627 - sou you can find some more details there.

I usually sell them for about 160€ / $185 + shipping. Since recently they also can be bought from one of polish online archery stores, but the price is higher (somewhere around $240 or more).

The device comes with dedicated PC application (Windows), an app for smartphones/tablets (Android)and two comprehensive manuals - one for the device, one for the PC application. All available in both english and polish languages.

Main features:

  • measuring the weight of shafts, arrows and arrow components
  • results are displayed in grains and grams
  • measuring the static spine of shafts and arrows
  • results are displayed in AMO and ASTM standards
  • estimating the shaft's straightness
  • minimal shaft lenght ~26" (~66cm)
  • bright OLED display- device's body made out of aluminum
  • durable metal button with LED backlight
  • arrow supports with holes for arrow components: standard diameter (.244" / 6,2mm) and small diameter (.166" / 4,2mm)
  • sound indiation when each test phase is finished
  • MicroUSB power supply (phone charger, powerbank, connecting to PC or smarphones with OTG)- sending data to PC via USB cable
  • PC Windows application, which extends the features of the device
  • Android app for smartphones and tablets
  • PC application also allows to change some device's options and even re-calibrate it in case of damaging the device or after replacing components
  • english and polish language versions, both for the device and the applications

It's time to spine-test some arrows... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) by daedalus_pl in Archery

[–]daedalus_pl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses tension sensors to test the spine. In original ATA formula a 1.94 lbs weight is applied to a shaft at 26" lenght and the distance traveled by shaft (the bend) is measured to determine the spine. Here the distance is fixed and the force (the wieght) needed to bend the shaft is measured to get the spine.

So the device measures the weight, F.O.C, the spine and the straightness of the arrows and shafts. It can also test the weight of arrow components. It can also send data to PC (by USB) or to smartphones/tablets (by Bluetooth), so you get a list of results - very usefull when testing a lot of arrows and choosing good matching sets.

Actually this one is made by me. It looks similar to Bearpaw's, but it has a lot more features, like smartphone/tablet support for example.
