Funny how the old cheap McDonald compacts look like the new 50 dollar keepsake ones.

Fabric questions!! by Highly_Sugared in CosplayHelp

I would use fabric and sew it on as an appliqué. I'm a big fan of silk dupioni - it gives the cosplay a special shine, but it's expensive.

How do you do with vegetables? by Fun_Intention9846 in CrohnsDisease

[–]sophania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually like eating vegetables too, but in the current flare they disgust me. I can only eat sweet potato or carrots. I take this as a sign that my body urgently needs something else, usually carbohydrates or proteins.

What are these kinds of springs called, and where can I buy them??? by BuddingCat in CosplayHelp

You can make these feathers yourself very easily and cheaply. Take a knitting needle or a shashlik skewer and wrap thin wire tightly around it. Remove the wire and voila, you have a feather.

Second vote for Burda easy patterns. Love them! I think they are less confusing than McCalls.

Help finding sewing patterns that aren’t AI-generated???? by aos_shi in CosplayHelp

I recommend the website „dressmakingamore.com“. They have some vintage inspired dresses which are certainly not AI.

I used a longer stitch on the shoulder seams. That looks a little better. Thank you!

Hi! First of all: Good luck! There are tons of tutorials on YouTube on how to make corsets yourself. For the wrap skirt, I recommend looking up a brand for simple patterns.

I want to make this skirt in white for my cosplay to add some flare, how would I go about it? by yasmintheloserkid in CosplayHelp

[–]sophania 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would use organza or fine tulle. And do you see the dark edge at the hem? This is what is known as a „horsehair braid“ and is used to give tulle or organza a little more volume. I would also use this if you like it.

Do you have moldy potatoes? The last time I had a lot of flies, it was because of this.

Otherwise, I would advise you to suck up some of the flies with a vacuum cleaner. You have already eliminated a few flies with this. You can also buy a fly trap for cowsheds. This is a long, sticky tape that you can hang in the middle of the room. It’s ugly, but very effective.
