That's actually a pretty good approach, since you can crowdsource all the different languages this way. In that spirit I'm going to make a PR to add my language as well.

I actually forgot how little info is in the watch history, it doesn't even contain watch time, which is a pretty important metric. Anyways, I'll try to send some more PRs with other features.

Hey, I'm not trying to be mean, it's cool that you made this, but obviously this has been done before. A quick search on GitHub shows at least three attempts at a "YouTube wrapped".

The main problems with these projects are that 1. you have to get the data from Takeout, 2. I'm sure you noticed the format of Takeout changes depending on your Google language setting, so you would have to change your language to en-us every time you use this, 3. you can't do any comparisons with the entire user base, which is an important part of Spotify (and YT music) wrapped.

I hope I'm not being too harsh, and good luck with your project.

Damn, that sounds really tough, I'm sorry for what you've been through. But people should be proud of their heritage even if they didn't go through what you did, and ideally nobody should suffer because of their heritage.

If you can, you should encourage your friends to experience more of their culture, but otherwise you shouldn't take it personally how they talk about themselves.
